  • Patent number: 11889129
Abstract: A method for signalling, to a terminal, substitution of an item of content, broadcast via a broadcast network to which the terminal is connected, with a substitute item of content. Such a method includes: obtaining a substitute information packet including time information indicating a time of execution, by the terminal, of an action for substituting the broadcast item of content with the substitute item of content, wherein the time information corresponds to a date of rendering of an image of the broadcast item of content with reference to a reference clock embedded in the broadcast item of content; generating an event notification message including the time information; and inserting the event notification message into a data flow conveying the item of content broadcast within the broadcast network.

  • Patent number: 9641874
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for generating a stream in accordance with the DVB standard that is understood by a first-generation decoder, typically in accordance with DVB-S/C/T/, and which also enables the deterministic generation of a stream in accordance with the second-generation DVB-T2 standard. A method is described for generating a stream containing a multiplex according to a first-generation DVB standard. This stream also contains the information relating to an encapsulation in accordance with DVB-T2 of at least one subset of broadcast programs inserted in the stream in the form of private sections that will be ignored by a first-generation decoder that will decode the stream in accordance with the first-generation standard. Equipment according to the invention can construct the T2-MI stream at a DVB-T2 transmitter deterministically, which can then be integrated in an SFN network.

  • Patent number: 9237378
Abstract: In the field of the broadcasting of digital services intended for terminals retrieving these services, the concern is with the problem of synchronization in the context of a network transmitting on a single modulation frequency and the reliability of the broadcasting channel by redundancy of equipment. The present invention proposes a broadcasting system having a duplicated formatting module. This system enables a modulator to switch between the two streams generated by the two formatting modules without becoming desynchronized. These formatting modules are synchronized with each other in order to generate synchronized streams. Thus, when a modulator is caused to switch from a first stream generated by one of the formatting modules onto a second stream generated by a second formatting module, this switching can be effected without requiring a resynchronization step.

  • Patent number: 9148607
Abstract: Method of broadcasting a set of national and regional DVB-T2 programs not requiring duplicating the broadcasting of the national programs nor uploading the regional programs to a central point. This method is based on the creation of various T2-MI streams using PLP technology. A T2-MI stream is dedicated to the national programs. T2-MI streams are created for the regional programs. The national programs intended to be replaced by regional programs are isolated in specific pipes. The frame durations and the size of the box are harmonized between the various pipes. Each transmitter receives firstly the national T2-MI stream and at least one regional T2-MI stream. It has a device for replacing at least one pipe of the national T2-MI stream with a pipe of the regional T2-MI stream in order to generate the T2-MI stream to be transmitted.

  • Patent number: 9118562
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of video stream transport. The invention specifically relates to a method for generating a clock signal controlling the transmission rate of an output signal device transmitting a stream from an input stream. The invention describes a method for generating the clock of the output stream from a measurement of the clock of the input stream. Said measurement is permanently adjusted in order to increase the accuracy of the measurement as well as to monitor possible drifts of the input stream clock. Said decorrelation between the clock of the input stream generates a regular output clock, even when the clock of the input stream is irregular.
