Abstract: A method of forming a honeycomb-shaped assembly comprises providing a plurality of profiled strips. Each of the profiled strips comprises two base sides positioned at an obtuse angle relative to each other to form a trough-shaped configuration. An inner projecting flange and an outer projecting flange extend from the base sides. One of the inner projecting flange and outer projecting flange comprises an groove. Two connecting sides each extend along a plane from one of the two base sides and each includes at least one free end including a projection. The plurality of profiled strips are stacked to form an octagonal honeycomb configuration by inserting the projection of a connecting side of one of the plurality of profiled strips into the groove of a base side of another of the plurality of profiled strips. At least a portion of the projection is received by the groove in an interlocking manner.

Abstract: A trickling filter system comprises at least three filler material containers arranged one next to the other such that one of the at least three filler material containers is in a middle position. Each of the at least three filler material containers comprises, a top defining an opening, a bottom comprising a water-permeable support structure, and a space between the top and the bottom comprising a filler material. A rotary sprinkler container configured to at least partially receive a rotary sprinkler and is positioned on top of the one of the at least three filler material containers in the middle position. The rotary sprinkler container is configured to enable rotation of the rotary sprinkler to sweep over at least a portion of the at least three filler material containers.

Abstract: An installation element for use in cooling technology, in water treatment, or in mass transfer and a method for producing such an element. The installation element is sell supporting and is composed of a plurality of plies which are at least partially spatially structured and which are connected to each other. Adjacent plies form flow paths for a liquid and/or a gaseous medium between the adjacent plies. The installation element has at least some of the plies being composed of an at least three-layer coextruded plastic film, a center layer of the three-layer plastic film being a mechanically supporting layer, and the two outer layers are composed of a plastic having application-specific properties or are layers each having at least one additive which is added to the plastic and which gives application specific properties to the outer layers.
