    Abstract: A solid lubricant, consisting of solid perfluorocarbons, with linear or substantially linear carbon atoms chain, containing from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and having a value of surface tension ranging from 13 to 15 dyne/cm, is obtained by dimerization or co-dimerization of perfluorocarbonsulphonyl halogenidesC.sub.n F.sub.2n+1 SO.sub.2 X(in which X represents an atom of halogen), having a linear or substantially linear chain of carbon atoms and bearing the --SO.sub.2 X group at one end of the chain, operating at high temperature, with short reaction times, and preferably in the presence of a metal catalyst.The solid perfluorocarbon lubricant can be used, if desired as a mixture with paraffinic wax, on sliding surfaces, particularly consisting of a polymeric material either porous or made porous.

    Abstract: A process is provided for preparing a substituted 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran of the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.a is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, straight or branched having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, aryl, alkaryl, --OH, --OR.sub.3, --N(R.sub.d).sub.2, where R.sub.3 and R.sub.d are alkyl, straight or branched having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sub.b is alkyl, straight or branched, having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, aryl, alkaryl; and R.sub.c is hydrogen or the same as R.sub.b, by the rearrangement of a 1,1-bis(2-hydroxybenzene) alkyl and/or aryl-ethane, in the presence of catalytic amounts of a mineral acid or organic acid such as phosphoric, sulfuric or p-toluenesulfonic, at elevated temperatures from 180.degree. to 250.degree. C., and withdrawing the resulting products from the reaction mixture as they are formed. The starting 1,1-bis(2-hydroxybenzene) alkyl and/or aryl-ethane compounds may be obtained by the catalyzed reaction of a substituted biphenol with an aldehyde.

The product is useful in the synthesis of pesticides.

    Abstract: A method of copolymerization in suspension of ethylene with straight-chain alpha-olefins so as to obtain low-density copolymers in two copolymerization steps in an aliphatic hydrocarbon medium having a boiling point above 40.degree. C. In the first reaction step the medium is supplied with a high-activity Ziegler catalyst on a carrier and with ethylene and the alpha-olefin. The copolymerization reaction is carried out for between 20 seconds and 30 minutes and at a temperature between 45.degree. and 65.degree.. The resulting copolymer is used in the second reaction step as a nucleus for polymerizing ethylene and the alpha-olefin, the reaction medium being supplied with additional quantities of ethylene and alpha-olefins so as to maintain the concentration of alpha-olefin in the reaction medium at between 4 and 25% by weight per 100 parts by weight of reaction medium and so as to maintain the pressure of ethylene at between 5 and 25 bars, the reaction being performed at a temperature between 50.degree. and 80.

    Abstract: For preparing polyoxyalkylenediol-.alpha.,.omega.-bisallyl policarbonates, diallyl carbonate is reacted in a first reaction stage with a polyoxyalkylenediol having a mol wt between 400 and 4500 in the presence of a transesterification catalyst at a temperature in the neighborhood of 100.degree. C. and under reduced pressures, whereafter, in a second reaction stage, the product as obtained from the first stage is treated at a temperature between 70.degree. C. and 150.degree. C. under reduced pressures, still in the presence of a transesterification catalyst. By so doing, the chain extension of the bisallyl carbonate of the polyoxyalkylenediol is achieved, whereas the unreacted diallyl carbonate coming from the first stage, and that produced in the second stage, are eliminated, and the final reaction product can thus be collected.
