Abstract: A structure comprising a first fixed unit and at least a second unit encompassing the fixed unit, whereby the second unit is located so as to be able to slide transversely relative to the axis of the fixed unit in order to extend the internal volume of the structure. The floor of the movable unit comprises an horizontal section and a pivotable section connected to the horizontal section by means of an horizontal hinge. The extendable structure can be moved in the form of a trailer or a semi-trailer or is transportable in the form of a container.
