Publication number: 20160115688Abstract: Louvered roof systems are provided with one or more louvers. Such louvers can be combined in an assembly that is movable between an open condition and a closed condition. In the closed condition, louvers in the assembly engage one another. In such engagement, a leg extending generally transversely from one louver may include a wing that extends generally transversely to the leg and that abuts a surface of an adjacent louver. Additionally or alternatively, in such engagement, a leg extending transversely from one louver may be received in a notch in an adjacent louver.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2015Publication date: April 28, 2016Applicant: Euramax International, Inc.Inventors: David G. Patent number: 9309995Abstract: A low profile downspout extension is formed in multiple segments including a flexible conduit, a splash block and an extension. The splash block transitions from a circular inlet into a low profile pentagon configuration with a central bead along the top surface of the low profile body portion to define an apex of the pentagon shape. The body portion is wider than the diameter of the circular inlet but has a height at the central bead that is more than half the diameter of the circular inlet. The body portion has ribbed side walls to strengthen the splash block without requiring internal reinforcement. The bottom surface of the splash block defines a flow path that extends generally linearly from the bottom of the inlet opening to the bottom of the pentagon-shaped outlet. An open configuration for the splash block provides an alternative above-ground splash pad structure.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: Euramax International, Inc.Inventor: Robert Benjamin Bell

Publication number: 20140196400Abstract: A hidden gutter hanger mounts a rain gutter to the roof structure of a building. The end of the gutter hanger adjacent the building fascia is formed with multiple vertically folded portions that establish a strong end mounting structure for fastening the gutter hanger to the fascia. The folded end portions are formed with aligned holes that create a guided fastener structure having minimal longitudinal depth that allows a greater percentage of the guided fastener to be inserted into the building fascia. The distal end of the gutter hanger is formed with a mounting tab that engages the forward lip of the rain gutter such that the gutter hanger is positioned internally of the rain gutter. The body portion of the gutter hanger extending between the distal end and the end adjacent the fascia is formed with a central longitudinal rib to strengthen the hanger against vertical sagging.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2013Publication date: July 17, 2014Applicant: Euramax International, Inc.Inventor: Robert Benjamin Bell

Publication number: 20140130929Abstract: Flexible, helically corrugated, seamless pipes and tubular conduits of indeterminate length. In some embodiments, these pipes or conduits are formed by a continuous corrugating process on a corrugator. In some embodiments, the pipes are collapsible and are configured to remain in the collapsed and un-collapsed state without the application of external force. Also disclosed are helical tubes include corrugations that follow a counterclockwise path and corrugations that follow a clockwise path. Also disclosed are dual helical tubes with helical corrugations configured such that a portion of each corrugation follows a counterclockwise rotation and another portion of the corrugation follows a clockwise rotation.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2013Publication date: May 15, 2014Applicant: Euramax International, Inc.Inventors: Benjamin Randolph Elliott, Eric Michael Boettner, Christopher Turner

Patent number: 8602066Abstract: A low profile downspout extension is formed in multiple segments including a flexible conduit component, a splash block component and an extension component. An adapter is selectively connectable to the inlet portion of the flexible conduit component to allow mounting to a small downspout. The splash block component transitions from a circular inlet into a low profile rectangular configuration with an internal weir that prevents a back-flow of water into the circular portion. The low profile rectangular sections are formed with ribbed side walls and a crowned top surface to provide strength without requiring reinforcement. The flexible conduit portion includes a rectangular inlet, a circular outlet and a corrugated central portion that allows the selective orientation of the inlet relative to the outlet. The adapter includes a deflectable attachment tab that locks into an attachment rib on the inlet portion of the flexible conduit component.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2010Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: Euramax International, Inc.Inventors: Robert B. Patent number: 8438788Abstract: A rainwater collection apparatus is formed with an outer sleeve member that is adapted to connect with upper and lower downspout portions, and with an internal colander that is operable to collect and filter the rainwater flowing through the upper downspout portion. The colander has an upper flanged edge that removes water flowing along the inside surface of the downspout, a filter area including a plurality of apertures for the passage of rainwater into a catch basin, and a support flange that rests on a base ledge formed on the outer sleeve to define the catch basin. A discharge spout drains the collected rainwater from the catch basin to a remote storage container. An internal opening in the colander allows the passage of debris and the overflow of rainwater from the catch basin through apertures in the colander for discharge through the lower downspout portion.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2010Date of Patent: May 14, 2013Assignee: Euramax International, Inc.Inventors: Robert B. Patent number: 8276321Abstract: A gutter cover is formed through expanded metal manufacturing techniques to create alternating areas of solid metal and diamond-shaped openings to facilitate the shedding of leaves while passing water into the gutter. The gutter cover is mounted without fasteners by securing a hook portion underneath the front lip of the gutter and arcing the body portion of the gutter cover to press the rearward drip foot against the gutter and the drip hip adjacent to the fascia board into a pressure fit. The length of the gutter cover from the rearward edge to the front end being slightly longer than the corresponding length of the gutter structure. The gutter cover includes an integral drip leg projecting downwardly from the drip hip and being formed with an area of expanded metal diamond-shaped apertures to direct water into the gutter trough. A front drip lip directs water away from the gutter face.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2009Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Euramax International, Inc.Inventor: Robert Benjamin Bell
