Abstract: Method for the realization Hof a calcium phosphate-based biomaterial in form of granules and/or agglomerates of re-absorbable granules which can be used in the biomedical industry as, e.g., bone fillers, for increasing the bone mass, as a sealing for the internal orthopaedic prosthesis, for releasing drugs and/or medicaments and/or other substances beneficial for the organism. A calcium phosphate-based biomaterial in form of granules and/or aggregates thereof obtained according to such method.

Abstract: A method for obtaining a composite material including an aqueous solution of pectin and a suspension/solution of calcium phosphate mixed together, wherein said solution of pectin cross-links with a portion of the calcium obtained from the solution of calcium phosphate and wherein a portion of the calcium phosphate in suspension remains as inorganic phase and composite materials obtained by this method.

Abstract: A process for coupling a polymer component to a metal component forming part of a biomedical joint prosthesis includes the steps of providing the polymer component, providing the metal component having a surface with the same geometry/curvature of the surface of the polymer component to be coated, putting in contact the polymer component with the metal component, and heating only the metal component to a process temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature of the polymer component to achieve a local softening or melting of the polymer component at the contact surface between the two components.
