Abstract: Technology-implemented systems and methods for use of a damage-scale method in the design, issuance, management, and claim servicing of a catastrophe insurance policy are disclosed. A catastrophe insurance policy is issued to insure property from wide-scale natural catastrophic events such as floods, earthquakes, and the like natural disasters. The catastrophe insurance policy includes specific damage-scale method clauses defined in the terms and conditions of the insurance policy that require use of a damage-scale method to evaluate and manage insurance claims for property damage. For example, a catastrophe insurance policy application is defined to include contractually defined insurance indemnification payouts that are tied to specific states of property damage (rather than property replacement or repair cost estimates provided by insurance loss adjustors).
