Publication number: 20230390048Abstract: Provided herein are devices used to reconstruct a natural lens capsule after a cataract surgery. The device has a ring-shaped rigid component, a ring-shaped flexible component and a groove disposed on an inner surface of the rigid component. The rigid component has a distal end attached to the ring-shaped flexible component and a proximal end that lies against Wieger's ligament when fitted within the natural lens capsule. The ring-shaped flexible component has a proximal end that is attached to the distal end of the rigid component and a distal end that contacts an anterior surface of the natural lens capsule when fitted therein. The groove is disposed to receive optics of an intraocular lens and/or the ledge is disposed to secure haptics thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2023Publication date: December 7, 2023Applicant: EYE-PCR B.V.Inventors: Ioannis Pallikaris, Onurcan Sahan, Harilaos Ginis

Publication number: 20200170835Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for correcting a corneal surface irregularity surface in a subject. The system generally comprises a infrared laser, for example, and infrared laser and a laser control unit, a corneal contacting unit, a gel solidifying unit and an electronic device tangibly storing algorithms to operate the units. In the methods, a polymerizable or thermo-reversible gel or polymerized resin is applied to the anterior corneal surface and solidified as a layer over the cornea. A first correcting cut is lasered into the stroma of an applanated cornea, the gel layer is then removed and a second correcting cut is lasered in the stroma of the applanated cornea. The lenticel formed intrastromaly by the first and second correcting cuts is removed such that the cornea has a corrected corneal curvature.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2020Publication date: June 4, 2020Applicant: EYE-PCR B.V.Inventor: Ioannis Pallikaris

Patent number: 10548719Abstract: Provided herein are devices used to reconstruct a natural lens capsule after a cataract surgery. The device flexibly adapts to the tension of the lens capsule as it is relaxed or contracted. This device comprises a ring-shaped rigid component. The rigid component comprises a distal end in contact with an anterior surface of the capsule and a proximal end disposed on a posterior surface of the capsule and disposed against a Wieger's ligament of the eye. A ring-shaped flexible component substantially concentric with the rigid component is flexibly fitted against an inner surface of the capsule. The ring-shaped flexible component comprises a proximal end formed on an outer surface of a proximal end of the rigid component, and a distal end extending away from the rigid component. A groove is disposed on an inner surface of the rigid component configured to receive haptics on an intraocular lens.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2017Date of Patent: February 4, 2020Assignee: EYE-PCR B.V.Inventors: Ioannis Pallikaris, Onurcan Sahin
