Abstract: A control method of a transmission system in a human-powered vehicle based on a forecasting comfortable power consumption and a comfortable cadence is provided in this invention to supply a comfortable travel for a controller of a human-powered vehicle. This control method includes the steps of sensing a traveling distance in one past period and an inclination. Then the controller may forecast a comfortable power consumption in the virtual period and calculate a forecasting traveling distance in the virtual period from the forecasting power consumption. Afterward, controller may calculate a forecasting optimum gear ratio from the forecasting traveling distance and a comfortable cadence and may generate control signals to the transmission system in the human-powered vehicle. The transmission system in the human-powered vehicle then automatically adjust its gear ratio to the forecasting optimum gear ratio or automatically choose an existing gear ratio which is most close to the forecasting optimum gear ratio.

  • Patent number: 6497163
Abstract: A linearly-displacing dual dial rods speed changing controller comprises a base, a wire hub seat, an advancing member, and a withdrawing member. The wire hub seat is fastened with a guide wire of a speed changer. The wire hub seat is controlled by dial rods of the advancing member and the withdrawing member to displace linearly in a reciprocating manner on the guide rail of the base, thereby actuating the guide wire to bring about a pulling action to attain the speed change.

  • Patent number: 6491597
Abstract: A front speed changing device comprises a base, a first link rod, a second link rod, a chain guiding member, a driven member, and a linking member, which form together a six-link-rod linking mechanism. The driven member is fastened with a pull cord. When the pull cord is pulled, the driven member swivels to link each rod member to engage in the swiveling action, thereby driving the chain guiding member to guide a chain to displace horizontally to attain the speed change.

  • Patent number: 6397700
Abstract: A dual dial rod speed changing indicator comprises a base board, a wire hub seat, an advancing member, and a withdrawing member. The wire hub seat is acted on by a bias force and pivoted to the base board. The wire hub seat has a first ratchet tooth portion and a second ratchet tooth portion. The advancing member comprises an advancing dial rod and an advancing ratchet pawl pivoted to the dial rod. The advancing dial rod is pivoted to the base board such that the advancing dial rod meshes with the first tooth portion at the time when the advancing dial rod is exerted on by an external force, thereby actuating the wire hub seat to turn and advance. The withdrawing member comprises a locating ratchet pawl and a withdrawing dial rod, which are pivoted with the base board. The withdrawing dial rod has a locating tooth which meshes with the second tooth portion to locate the wire hub seat at the time when the withdrawing dial rod turns on the base board.

  • Patent number: 6015360
Abstract: An automatic gearshifting device of a bicycle multi-stage fly wheel is composed of a main body, a rotary shaft, an urging member, a plurality of weights located in a receiving cell of the main body, and a drive chain guiding mechanism. The rotary shaft is fastened pivotally with the main body. The urging member is slidably mounted on the rotary shaft such that the urging member is capable of being actuated by the centrifugal force of the weights in motion to slide in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the rotary shaft so as to enable the drive chain guiding mechanism to shift the drive chain from one tooth to another tooth of the bicycle multi-stage fly wheel gear cluster.

  • Patent number: 5788019
Abstract: A bicycle two-step brake system is composed of two brake arms having a primary arm and a secondary arm fastened pivotally with the primary arm. The primary arm is fastened with the bicycle frame while the secondary arm is fastened with a brake cable of the brake lever. The primary arms are provided with a first drag portion and a brake shoe capable of being forced against the bicycle wheel rim so as to slow or stop the bicycle in motion. The secondary arms are provided with a second drag portion. Two elastic members are located between the primary arms and the secondary arms such that the elastic members enable the first drag portions and the second drag portions to have an outward bracing force capable of cooperating with a pulling force of the brake cable to cause the primary arms and the secondary arms to act independently or synchronously to bring about the two-step braking mechanism.
