Abstract: A sound amplifying case for an electronic device includes a shell that receives and secures the electronic device on a front side of the shell. The shell has a sound channel formed therein which receives sound from the electronic device at an inlet sound port on the shell front side, amplifies the redirected sound, and directs the amplified sound to an outlet sound port on a back side of the shell. The case includes a folding cover attached at one end to the shell back side and extends around one edge of the shell to a free end. With the case in an open configuration, the cover folds between the attached end and the free end forming an acoustic chamber between the cover and the rear side of the shell. The chamber receives the amplified sound from the outlet sound port and further amplifies/redirects it out of the acoustic chamber.

Abstract: An insect repellent material includes a carrier such as a polyethylene, a molecular sieve or zeolite material, and a repellent such as geraniol. The molecular sieve/zeolite material provides the insect repellent material with a slow-release quality and also permits the carrier to hold more insect repellent than it would otherwise if so desired.
Abstract: A flameless candle having speaker and lighting capability is provided. Multiple of such flameless candles can be used in a system to generate stereo or surround sound, as well as various lighting modes. The flameless candle or flameless candle system can have AM/FM radio functions, clock functions, alarm functions, etc., and can be used as an audio monitor. In addition, the flameless candle or candle system may be equipped with video capability.
Abstract: A flameless candle includes a translucent housing having a concavity in its top resembling a partially melted pillar candle. A false wick is mounted in the center of the concavity. A circuit board containing an LED, an integrated circuit chip, and an ambient light sensor is mounted inside the housing below the false wick. A battery compartment and a fragrance cartridge compartment are located in the bottom of the housing together with a slide switch. The housing also includes an electric fan or blower mounted adjacent to the fragrance cartridge compartment. The slide switch selectively completes an electrical circuit between the batteries and the circuit board, the batteries and the fan, or both. The fan is arranged such that, when activated, it blows air into the cartridge compartment.
