  • Patent number: 5764125
Abstract: A noise suppressor for engagement over a cable or ribbon, has a pair of ferrite core halves held in a pair of case halves which are closed around the cable or ribbon. The noise suppressor has a pair of case portions made of resilient material, each case portion having opposite side walls and a floor for defining a space with an open top for receiving a ferrite portion, and ends for passing the conductor. Hinges and latches or latches only hold the case portions together in a closed position around a conductor with the open tops of the case portions facing each other. Ferrite portions are in each case portion, each ferrite portion having a channel and at least one face. The faces engage each other and the channels merging when the case portions are in the closed position for passage of the conductor through the channel. A raised platform on the floor of each case portion is made as one piece with the case portion and extends into the space and into engagement of the ferrite portion.

  • Patent number: 5200730
Abstract: A noise suppressor for engagement over a cable, comprises a ferrite core having a core passage extending therethrough from one end to the other. A sleeve of resilient insulating material is cast, injected, dipped or molded over the ferrite core to cover the core. The sleeve includes on opposite sides thereof, a sleeve passage communicating with the core passage. One of the projections may be resilient or may be replaced by a closed end of the sleeve with a slit, for closely engaging a cable to fix the sleeve at a selected location along the cable. A pad may be included in one or both of the sleeves to further hold the sleeves securely on the cable. The sleeve may have a cylindrical or rectangular cross section to accommodate cylindrical or ribbon shaped cables.

  • Patent number: 5162772
Abstract: A noise suppressor for permanent engagement over a cable comprises first and second case halves which are connected to each other by a hinge. At least one female latch tab is mounted to the first case half near an interior surface of the first case half and a male latch tab is mounted on an interior surface of the second case half. With the first and second case halves closed over a cable, the male and female latch tabs are locked to each other and are inaccessible from outside the case. The case may not be opened except by destroying the case. End walls of the case portions have recesses for passage of the cable therethrough and each case portion contains a suppressor core having a passage for receiving the cable.

  • Patent number: 5003278
Abstract: A high frequency noise suppressor for engagement around a cable comprises a pair of case halves made of nylon or other rugged synthetic material which can be snapped around a cable in clam shell like fashion. A ferrite core half is positioned in each case half for defining a ferrite core member around the cable. Each case half has opposite end walls with semicircular recesses. A plurality of triangular fingers extend into each recess and are positioned at a slight angle outwardly with respect to an interior of each case half. The fingers have truncated apexes for defining a small opening in each recess. If a cable which is larger than the small opening is to be engaged by the suppressor, the fingers bend outwardly on opposite sides of the case for firmly engaging the cable. This resists relative movement between the closed case and the cable in either direction along the cable.
