    Abstract: A window regulator for the tailgate of an automotive vehicle having a well, and a window movable into and out of the well. Provided in the well are independent drive assemblies at opposite sides thereof, one of which includes a motor. A drive shaft interconnects the assemblies to insure synchronous operation thereof. Each assembly includes a pinion and guide means for slidably supporting the drive assemblies on the racks. The rotatable pinions associated with the drive means are in mesh with the racks so that a rotation of the pinions results in vertical movement of the drive assemblies on the racks. The drive assemblies are fixedly connected to the lower edge of the window.

    Abstract: A manually operable four-way seat adjuster mechanism comprising a horizontally movable carriage assembly, and a seat assembly connected to said carriage by bell-cranks. The bell-cranks at each side of the carriage assembly are connected by links, at least one of which in turn is provided with notches, and a correspondingly notched latch lever retains the link in adjusted latched position. Torsion bars interconnect bell-cranks at opposite sides of the carriage, each comprising a rod extending through a closely fitted tube, the ends of which are fixed to the bell-cranks. The ends of the rods are flattened and fixed to opposite sides of the carriage. A strong balance spring assists the bell-cranks, and the geometry is such as to provide a substantially uniform lifting torque to the seat throughout its range of adjustment.

    Abstract: An adjustable vehicle seat construction in which motor means is connected by a bracket to the seat slide, which also carries transmission mechanism for adjusting the position of the seat. The seat adjusting mechanism comprises interconnected levers at opposite sides interconnected by a torsion tube pivotally connected to side elements of the seat frame by elongated pins in driving connection therewith. In addition, mounting brackets are provided carrying carriage supports on which elongated carriage slides are longitudinally slidable. The mounting brackets at their forward ends include special abutment means engageable by the forward end of the carriage supports under abnormal stress such as may occur in collision.
