Patents Assigned to Filtra-Systems Company
  • Patent number: 7727295
Abstract: An oil mist collection system for a plurality of machine tools each having a coolant system directing coolant at the cutting tools and collecting coolant and returning the same to a filtration system includes an oil mist collector at each station collecting oil from mist present at each station and draining the oil back to the associated machine tool coolant return, and return air ducts from each of the oil mist collectors extending to a central air filtration apparatus. Each oil mist collector preferably includes a vertical spiral coil wall defining a spiral flow path into which the mist is directed, the oil droplets collecting onto the spiral coil wall and draining into a collection chamber below the spiral coil wall for return to the associated machine tool via a drain line. Each mist collector is comprised of an inlet housing, a spiral coil housing and a collection housing forming a unitary housing assembly.

  • Patent number: 6287474
Abstract: A deep bed liquid treatment apparatus and process in which the liquid and a granular media is periodically agitated to create a liquid-media slurry, and outflow of the liquid and entrained contaminants is induced through a separator having an inner diameter screen with openings sufficiently small to prevent the escape of media granules. A rotor is rotated within the separator to create turbulent flow at the screen to dislodge the granules drawn onto the screen openings.

  • Patent number: 5601729
Abstract: A filter apparatus and method use a permanent filter media belt to support a disposable filter media strip which are indexed over a vacuum chamber perforate cover plate at the bottom of a tank containing liquid to be filtered. A flight conveyor frictionally engages the disposable media strip to index both the disposable media strip and the permanent media belt. The side edges are each extended out into a seal enclosure containing an inflatable tube seal, each pressurized to seal the side edges during filtration, the tubes depressurized when the media are indexed.

  • Patent number: 5565112
Abstract: An arrangement and method of retrofitting a filter using a disposable media to use a permanent media belt passed through a filter tank, in which movable carts are positioned at the entrance and discharge ends of the filter tank, and a roll of permanent filter media belt segment is unwound and passed through the filter tank and rewound into a roll on the other cart at the discharge end of the filter tank with the permanent filter media belt segment being cleaned and dried prior to being rewound. Upon complete rewinding of the segment, the movable carts are switched in their positions and the permanent filter media belt segment again unwound to be again passed through the filter tank with the process repeated. A second removable cart can also be positioned at the entrance side of the filter tank with the leading end connected to the trailing end of the previous belt segment automatically to be carried through the filter tank to ensure uninterrupted filter operation by successive feed of the two belt segments.

  • Patent number: 4721040
Abstract: A flanged, dish shaped rectangular pressure responsive diaphragm is made from non-stretchable flat sheet stock in which the corners are formed with a tapering loop of excess material, and pleat folds take up the excess flange material to allow a tab portion to lie flat across the corner. Spacer strips and pieces are added to provide a uniform flange thickness.
