Abstract: A handheld massager is disclosed having a spring and dampener provided between a massage head portion and a handle portion of a massager. A massage mechanism is provided in the massage head portion for application of a massage effect to the user. Resulting shock and vibrations caused by the massage effect are absorbed and dampened by the spring and dampener for minimizing these effects upon the hand and wrist of the user. Additionally, variable vibrational contact surfaces and various visual therapy effects are disclosed in combination with the massage effect.

Abstract: A body massager is disclosed with a housing having a longitudinal axis and an external contact surface for receiving a portion of a body of a user. A longitudinal guide is mounted in the housing with a carriage cooperating with the guide for translation therealong. A motor is oriented in the housing, operably coupled to the housing and the carriage such that continuous rotation of the motor in one rotary direction translates the carriage along the guide in at least two directions. A massage formation is supported by the carriage for imparting a massage effect upon the portion of the user's body as the carriage is translated relative to the housing. In another embodiment, a massage bracket is driven about a first axis of rotation; and a massage node mounted to the bracket is driven to rotate relative to the bracket.

Abstract: A scale for measuring weight has a weight measurement device to be supported by an underlying surface. A generally planar platform cooperates with the weight measurement device so a load on the platform is measured by the weight measurement device. The scale has a display for displaying a measured weight. The scale may have a battery powering the display and a removable battery powering an ancillary feature. The scale display may have three columns so a measured weight appears to scroll. The scale may have a processor outputting an audio signal when the measured weight is displayed and a speaker conveying a sound effect. The scale display may be on a majority of the surface indicating the measured weight for a time after load removal. The scale display may display a temperature when not displaying the measured weight and the scale may have an external temperature sensor and a receiver.

Abstract: A removable cover portion for a body massager is provided with a sheet of material sized to be placed upon the body massager and adapted to be fastened to the body massager. The sheet has a reduced contact area for altering a resultant massage effect. A method for Manufacturing the cover portion provides the sheet, integrally forms a massage formation with at least two massage nodes and a cross member interconnecting the at least two massage nodes, and assembles a plurality of massage formations to the sheet of material whereby the cross members maintain the orientation of the corresponding adjacent massage nodes during assembly of the massage nodes to the sheet of material.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a body massager comprising a portable housing including a backrest and a seat support. A longitudinal guide is provided in the backrest cooperating with a carriage for translation of the carriage within the backrest and a motor drives the carriage along the guide. A pair of massage members are supported by the carriage and extend from the backrest for imparting a rolling massage effect upon the back of the user. A second motor drives the massage members for generating a rotary kneading massage effect or for adjusting a width of the rolling massage effect.
