  • Patent number: 7412987
Abstract: An expansion tank to be connected to a pipe system filled or with a liquid is disclosed. The expansion tank includes at least one connection opening for a liquid pipe. The tank has a main valve to close off the connection opening at a defined difference in pressure between the interior of the tank and the connection opening and/or at a defined liquid level in the tank. The tank also has an additional valve for closing off a channel extending through the closure member of the main valve from the interior of the tank to the connection opening. The additional valve is closed during normal operation of the expansion tank and is open if the difference in pressure between the interior of the tank and the connection opening is higher than the original pressure in the expansion tank.

  • Patent number: 7117888
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic separator to be fitted between a primary liquid circuit and a secondary liquid circuit, in such a manner that the first and secondary liquid circuits are hydraulically independent. The hydraulic separator has an elongate body with an internal space which is delimited by a wall. In the internal space there is a feed port leading to the primary liquid circuit and a discharge port leading from the primary liquid circuit, which are located substantially on one longitudinal side of the hydraulic separator. Also in the internal space there is a feed port leading to the secondary liquid circuit and a discharge port leading from the secondary liquid circuit, which are located substantially on a different longitudinal side of the hydraulic separator. The feed port leading to the primary liquid circuit and the discharge port leading from the secondary liquid circuit are located substantially at a first height region of the hydraulic separator.

  • Patent number: 6343622
Abstract: A flow-through member (1), which is suitable for being positioned in a connecting passage of an expansion tank in order to define a first flow-through passage (30) and a second flow-through passage (40), and which comprises a basic part (1a), by way of which the flow-through member (1) can be secured in the connecting passage, and a flow-guidance element (14) which is movably connected to the basic part (1a) and has an inlet opening (8) which can direct itself towards the upstream direction of a flow which is present in the flow passage 50 at least during operation.

  • Patent number: 6073910
Abstract: A coupling for connecting a first pipe part and a second pipe part comprises a first coupling part and a second coupling part, a shut-off valve arranged in the first coupling part, and locking structure. The locking structure can move with respect to one another between an unlocked position and a locked position, in the manner of a bayonet coupling. An actuator for actuating the shut-off valve is arranged in the second coupling part. The locking structure and the actuator are designed in such a manner that the shut-off valve can only be opened by means of the actuator when the locking structure is in the locked position, and in that the coupling can only be uncoupled when the shut-off valve is in the closed position. The actuator and the locking structure can be actuated separately.

  • Patent number: 5123938
Abstract: A device for separating gas from liquid, in particular for separating air from water and for discharging the separated gas, is designed for placing in a liquid circulation system through which gas-containing liquid flows. The device comprises a housing with a feed aperture and a discharge aperture for the liquid to be degassed. The internal space of the housing is at least partially filled with open filling elements which have a large surface area relative to the volume taken up. The filling elements can be the shape of hollow cylindrical elements, known per se, comprising a cylindrical wall provided with apertures, and projections extending inwards from the wall. At the top side of the housing, in the wall thereof, a valve for the discharge of the separated gas is provided. The valve is operated by a float comprising a float element and a float rod.

  • Patent number: 4784181
Abstract: In an expansion tank with a bladder-type diaphragm inside the tank, the diaphragm is provided on the outside with an annular open-holding element fixed to the diaphragm. The annular open-holding element may be positioned between two inwardly extending ribs disposed on the inside wall of the expansion tank. The ribs lie at distance from each other and extend preferably essentially perpendicular to the center line of the tank. The bladder-type diaphragm is preferably made up of two parts being attached to each other with their edges by means of an open-holding ring with a U-shaped cross-section. The edges of the diaphragm parts are accommodated in the U-shape and clamped together by the legs thereof. In the collapsed state the shape of the diaphragm can be controlled so that an optimal shape as regards the strain in the material of the diaphragm is obtained.
