Patents Assigned to Flow Control Equipment, Inc.
  • Patent number: 6312637
Abstract: A rod guide fixedly molded around the shank of a sucker rod string with the rod guide including a radially inner non-erodible zone and a radially outer erodible zone. The non-erodible zone includes a radially inner substantially sleeve-shaped portion having an inner cylindrical surface for gripping engagement with the rod. A plurality of flow through channels are spaced outward of the substantially sleeve-shaped portion. Each flow through channel extends axially along the rod guide and has a maximum circumferential width greater than any gap in the radially outer surface of the erodible zone circumferentially aligned with and radially outward of the respective flow through channel. The radially outer surface of the erodible zone may have a cylindrical outer configuration, such that a radially outward substantially sleeve-shaped portion is provided for engagement with the tubing.

  • Patent number: 5865245
Abstract: A stuffing box gland 20 that cooperates with packing 38 positioned within a stuffing box 18 to seal between a stuffing box housing 42 and a moveable polished rod 27 of an oilfield pump assembly 10. A lower end of a gland housing 46 forms a flange 50 extending radially outward from the gland housing 46 that is adapted for transmitting a variable compressive force to the packing 38, within the stuffing box 18. A plurality of attachment members 52 are utilized for interconnecting the gland housing flange 50 and the stuffing box housing flange 51 and may be adjusted to vary the compressive force exerted by the lower end 48 of the gland housing 46 on the packing 38. A sleeve 56 surrounds the polished rod 27 and includes a lower end 58 that seals with an annular seat 54.

  • Patent number: 5845909
Abstract: A stuffing box 10, 60 designed for sealing engagement with a rod member R includes a plurality of stacked packing rings 32, 110, 150, 210, and a gland member 42, 64 axially moveable relative to the stuffing box body 12, 62 for varying the compressive force on the packing rings. Each packing ring comprises an annular rubber carrier 34, 112, 152, 212 having tapered upper and lower surfaces, and an annular plastic dynamic seal 36, 114, 154, 214 for sealing engagement with the rod member. Gland member 42, 64 exerts an axially compressive force on the radially exterior portion of each angularly wedged packing ring and thereby generates a radial inwardly directed biasing force on each plastic dynamic seal through the rubber carrier for sealing engagement of the dynamic seal with the rod member.

  • Patent number: 5755284
Abstract: A rod guide is provided for centering a sucker rod within a tubular string that powers a pump within a wellbore. The rod guide comprises a rotor secured to the sucker rod and having upper and lower stop surfaces thereon, and a sleeve formed from metal to substantially increase the life of the rod guide. The rod guide stator has an elongate slot extending along its axial length. The stop surfaces limit axial travel of the stator on the sucker rod, and the sleeve prevents the stator from engaging the sucker rod. The sleeve may be retained on the rod by a clip, and plastic end members then molded over the clip and the ends of the metal sleeve. The stop surfaces may be formed by a ring member spaced axially between the upper and lower ends of the sleeve.
