Publication number: 20100159791Abstract: A method for introducing an accurately dosable amount of mercury into the discharge vessel of a fluorescent lamp, wherein both sides of the discharge vessel are connected to a lamp receptacle; and the discharge vessel is charged with a gas stream via the lamp receptacle and is filled, with a predetermined amount of mercury. During or after dosing the amount of mercury to be introduced, the mercury is brought in a dosed volume in the form of a single, coalescing drop, then the entire amount of mercury to be introduced is transported into the discharge vessel, while still maintaining the previously formed drop. A change-over mechanism guides the gas stream past the drop via a bypass channel and blocks the bypass channel such that while the bypass channel is blocked, the gas stream is guided over the dosed volume and drags the drop along with it into the discharge vessel.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2010Publication date: June 24, 2010Applicant: Flowil International Lighting (Holding) B.V.Inventors: Petar Stanic, Jürgen Remde

Patent number: 7695336Abstract: A method is proposed for introducing an accurately dosable amount of mercury into the discharge vessel of a lamp, in particular into a straight fluorescent lamp, wherein both sides of the discharge vessel are connected to a lamp receptacle; and the discharge vessel is charged with a gas stream via the lamp receptacle and is filled, moreover, with a predetermined amount of mercury via a mercury introducing channel. Furthermore, it is provided that during or after dosing the amount of mercury to be introduced, the mercury is brought in a dosed volume in the form of a single, coalescing drop, and then in a fill step the entire amount of mercury to be introduced is transported into the discharge vessel, while still maintaining the previously formed drop.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2007Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Flowil International Lighting (Holding) B.V.Inventors: Petar Stanic, Jürgen Remde

Publication number: 20090184643Abstract: A combined cermet rod and electrode unit for use in a high pressure discharge lamp comprising a cermet rod for connection at its distal end to an electrode tip of the high pressure discharge lamp, and a current supply electrode for forming an electrical connection with the cermet rod. The current supply electrode is formed with a hollow tubular section which is positioned around a proximal end of the cermet rod in physical and electrical contact therewith.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2009Publication date: July 23, 2009Applicant: FLOWIL INTERNATIONAL LIGHTING (HOLDING) B.V.Inventors: James D. Patent number: 7517115Abstract: A reflector lamp having a concave reflector with a base at one end and a lens at an opposite end. A discharge lamp having a fill of or forming salts maintained by heat in a vapor phase is located near the base end of the reflector. When the reflector lamp is oriented in a near-horizontal position, the fill coming into contact with a colder, lower side of the discharge lamp partially condenses, coloring light passing through the condensate. At least two interior reflector surface areas, which have contours defined by rotating generatrices with configurations of conic section lines, reflect the colored light to distribute it evenly over a surface being illuminated and avoid creating a hot spot.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2005Date of Patent: April 14, 2009Assignee: Flowil International Lighting (Holding) B.V.Inventor: Gunther Van De Poel
