Patents Assigned to FOCAL JMLAB
  • Patent number: 9071898
Abstract: Acoustic loudspeaker comprising: a movable membrane; a source of constant magnetic field, a coil mechanically secured to said membrane and interacting with the magnetic field so as to displace the membrane, when it is traversed by an alternating current, characterized in that the membrane carries the coil at its periphery, and in that the magnetic field source is formed by a set of at least one magnetized element disposed at the periphery of said membrane, around the coil, the magnetic field generated by said at least one magnetized element being in a plane parallel to the membrane.

  • Patent number: 8917898
Abstract: The invention relates to an acoustic loudspeaker which includes a magnetic field source. A mobile apparatus includes a diaphragm and a first winding capable of allowing passage of an electrical current representing the sound signal to be generated and of interacting with the magnetic field. The acoustic loudspeaker includes a second winding, both terminals of which are connected by a resistive component. Both terminals of the second winding are electrically isolated from the terminals of the first winding.

Abstract: The invention relates to an acoustic loudspeaker comprising: a magnetic field source; a mobile apparatus including a diaphragm and a winding capable of allowing passage of an electrical current representing the sound signal to be generated and of interacting with said magnetic. Said acoustic loudspeaker is characterized in that the mobile apparatus comprises a second winding, both terminals of which are connected by an essentially resistive component.

  • Patent number: 7878297
Abstract: A loudspeaker for acoustic enclosure, in particular a tweeter or a medium-frequency loudspeaker, which consists of a spherical diaphragm with direct radiation, with a front side that is concave in relation to the spool, and onto which is attached at a certain level, for example at mid-height or approximately at mid-height, the moving spool so as to achieve an optimal mechanical coupling capable of reproducing frequencies lower than 1 kHz with a high efficiency. Material such as pure beryllium or a Be/Al alloy or similar alloys is used to make the diaphragm. Loudspeakers of the tweeter or medium type, especially for very high-fidelity acoustic enclosures.

  • Publication number: 20090060255
Abstract: The invention relates to a membrane (1) for a loudspeaker, characterised in that: it has a core (2) consisting of structural mousse which is very precisely cut and thermoformed to the desired geometric profile for the membrane; the external face (4) of the membrane is covered by at least one, preferably a plurality of, outer folds (5) of woven or nonwoven fibres impregnated with resin, forming a laminated material or outer skin (6); the inner face (7) of the membrane is covered or not by at least one inner fold (8) of woven or non-woven fibres impregnated with resin, forming a laminated material or an inner skin (9). Essentially the same results are obtained in terms of rigidity, but the invention creates a large difference based on the process for controlling the resin content and the polymerisation cycle. Ultimately, the stability of the characteristics is improved.
