  • Publication number: 20090293740
Abstract: An upper citrus rind cutter used for squeezing a fruit to extract juice is provided. The fruit has pulp, a rind, and essential oils. The upper citrus rind cutter is configured to reduce the amount of pulp, rind, and essential oils in the extracted juice. The cutter includes a top, a bottom and a length defined therebetween and a cutting zone proximate the bottom. The cutter further includes an axial opening along the length of the cutter. The axial opening has an outlet proximate the bottom. The cutter also includes a plurality of radial openings proximate the bottom of the cutter, coinciding with the cutting zone and coupled in fluid communication with the outlet of the axial opening, wherein pressurized water is channeled through the axial opening into the plurality of radial openings to clean the cutting zone.

  • Patent number: 6360452
Abstract: The object of the Patent is a drying tunnel for fruit and vegetables which is prismatic rectangular in shape and is internally divided by spacing walls (1) with a bucket conveyor travelling successively up and down. The buckets are elongate, parallel to the walls (1) and closed at their ends by irregular hexagonal plates (2) which may swivel about top half-shafts (3), their concave bottom allowing an airflow through it and consisting of longitudinal spaced rods (4). Shafts (5) are arranged at the top of the end walls (2) with bearing means (6) at their free end which, upon abutting on a flat inclined guide (7), cause the bucket to be tipped and emptied, allowing the fruit to exit.

  • Patent number: 5440862
Abstract: An automatic fruit container filler machine. Such comprises a structure (1) supporting an electric motor (3) which drives a carriage lift (2) carrying an endless belt (6) having rotary and conveyor movement to form a horizontal belt surface (6b) which can be positioned coplanar with a feeder (16) for a fruit layer (18c) and can then be positioned at a lower level namely at the bottom of the container (17) or the preceding fruit layer. At this position, the belt is retracted, and the fruit layer (18) is deposited at a position (18a) without the layer being hocked or changed. The machine is applicable for filling containers with delicate fruit being extremely sensitive to hocking, such as apples, citrus fruits, tomatoes, peaches and the like.

  • Patent number: 4084697
Abstract: A sizer for fruit and other agricultural products, comprising two paired cylinders in a calibrating unit forming a chain of pairs of rollers connected together by a support, the head of which, coincides with the axle of the upper roller, and in turn is connected to a drive chain which moves over a longitudinal guide from which one of the rollers is suspended. The other roller slides, in contacting support, on a flexible track which maintains a suitable support, avoiding impacts and noise. The flexing thereof provide different inclinations and thereby different sizings as a function of a larger or smaller amount of turning or screwing-in of spindles which control the height of the flexible track via supports for the track.
