Abstract: The invention relates to cementitious or grout compositions and drilling fluids including reinforcement fibers and methods relating thereto. The cementitious or grout compositions include dry blend material and reinforcement fibers. Each of the fibers can have one or more of a pre-selected mean length, denier, diameter and aspect ratio to improve dispersion in dry blending the cementitious or grout compositions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a blend of reinforcement fibers for use in a variety of applications. Abstract: The present invention provides a synthetic fiber blend and methods for its use comprising a first fiber component formed of a homopolymer polypropylene fiber and a second fiber component being a copolymer formed of a polypropylene and a high density polyethylene. The first fiber component is fibrillated and the second fiber component is a twisted bundle comprised of multiple strands of a nonfibrillating monofilament. The synthetic fiber blend imparts improved reinforcement properties to the building materials to which they are added. In particular, the synthetic fiber blend when incorporated into a building material provides reduced permeability, increased fatigue strength, improved toughness, and reduced plastic shrinkage. The unique combination of the twisted second fiber component blended with the first fiber component provides improved mixability and uniform distribution of the synthetic fiber blend in cementitious materials.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for cleaning debris from a bore and includes injecting hydrophilic fibers selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, polyesters and nylons, suspended or dispersed in a water based or oil based liquid into the bore and forcing the suspension through the length of the bore, to its open end. In particular, the suspension is directed through sections of the bore holding quantities of debris formed from the drilling operation. The suspension loosens the debris and sweeps substantial quantities of debris from the bore, and acts to suspend the debris in the liquid in static suspension at times when the liquid is not being forced through the bore.
