Patent number: 5579630Abstract: The improved device (1A, 1B) for removing the yarn reserve (15) wound on the spindles (13) of spinning or twisting machines (2), is of the type traversing on rails (3) positioned above and along the spinning or twisting machine (2) so as not to impede work carried out manually on the spindle frame. Moreover, so as to be particularly effective in removing yarn reserves (15) and dust, the brush (12) is circular in plan, it rotates about itself (12) and is housed partly within the suction port (11) such as to project by the amount sufficient for operation (FIG. 2).Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1995Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C. Patent number: 5524428Abstract: To secure the end of the roving (5) to packages (9) before their doffing from a roving frame, it is proposed to initially raise the package support carriage (2) into a position such that the lower end (4a) of the tubes (4) is at the level of the compressor (16) of the flyers (6), then rotate the packages (9) and flyers (6) through a few revolutions in order to wind and secure the roving (5) onto the lower end portion (4a) of the tubes (4), after which the carriage (2) is lowered to break the roving (5) in the section between the lower end (4a) of the tubes (4) and the flyers (6). Preferably, before lowering the packages (9), a reserve of roving (5) is created by slowly rotating the flyers (6) and packages (9) through a few revolutions, to simultaneously twist the roving (5) and strengthen it.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 1994Date of Patent: June 11, 1996Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C. S.p.A.Inventors: Claudio Locatelli, Angelo Borgogni

Patent number: 5241726Abstract: For improving the cleaning effect of a fibrous material in an opener (1) comprising a rotatable opener roller (2) and blades (3,4) and carding plates (5) cooperating with the peripheral surface of the roller (2), there is provided in the material drawing zone at least one separator element (13) for the air current (14) generated by the rotation of the opener roller (2). The separator element (13) penetrates with a certain angle into the air current (14) and so it allows to deviate away from the opener roller (2) a radially outermost part of the air current (14), which owing to a greater centrifugal action includes residual impurities and cotton flocks still incorporating dirt or not yet opened because they have remained clamped between the teeth of the roller clothing, whereas the radially innermost part of the air current (14), which carries cleaned fibrous material that is lighter, is conveyed towards the outlet (16) for the material. The separator element (13) may be adjustable in position.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1991Date of Patent: September 7, 1993Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C. S.p.A.Inventors: Luigi Pezzoli, Emilio Vezzoli

Patent number: 5173995Abstract: A process of and a feeding device for feeding material in fibre form to a machine for preparing the material for subsequent spinning includes a material feeding bin through which the material is continuously fed to a substantially horizontal feeding table situated approximate a rotary preparing roll. The horizontal feeding table and the approximate rotary preparing roll define an air gap therebetween. A feeder roll is located above the feeding table which conveys the material toward the air gap, and the feeding table is supported to move in a substantially radial direction relative to the rotary preparing roll under the influence of data detected by a detecting device which detects the impurity level of the material at a point upstream of the feeding table relative to the direction of fibre flow.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1990Date of Patent: December 29, 1992Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C. S.p.A.Inventors: Luigi Pezzoli, Emilio Vezzoli

Patent number: 5107571Abstract: In a carding apparatus for fibrous material, of the type in which the staple fibres are fed by a feed roller to an introduction roller of a carding machine and are subjected to preliminary opening and impurity removal, at least one carding unit is provided along the path between the introduction cylinder and the carding cylinder. The carding unit comprises a removal knife at its inlet, a guide blade for the fibres at its exit, and a carding surface extending therebetween. The carding unit is position-adjustable in directions circumferential and radial to the introduction cylinder. The knife and blade can be adjusted independently in a prevalently radial direction to the introduction cylinder. Preferably two individually adjustable carding units are provided. Between the carding unit or units and the carding cylinder there is provided a mixing and homogenizing carding cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1990Date of Patent: April 28, 1992Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C. S.p.A.Inventors: Pietro B. Marzoli, Aldo Urgnani

Patent number: 4777792Abstract: The gripping device comprises at least one gripper which can be inserted into the tube and is formed from two elements which are mobile axially one in the other and are provided with frusto-conical ends which cooperate in such a manner that the axial movement of the inner element causes the outer element to expand and to engage under pressure with the tube for the purpose of its replacement. Two friction discs supported in an axially mobile manner are associated with the gripper and are subjected to the action of a spring in order to press a lower support element of the discs against the tube in order to retain it and allow exact keying of the tube on to the rotary drive element. The device is particularly suitable for cops.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1987Date of Patent: October 18, 1988Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C. S.p.A.Inventor: Pietro B. Marzoli

Patent number: 4757679Abstract: A doffing carriage is mobile at the level of the flyer support bed of a roving frame, and carries cop and empty tube gripping elements which are orientatable between a vertical position and an oblique position. A peg conveyor loaded with empty tubes in a reverse zig-zag arrangement to that of the cop rotators is disposed at the level of a footboard. The cops, lowered on to an orientatable cop carrier, are gripped by the gripping elements in an oblique position, raised, disposed vertically and deposited on to the free pegs of the conveyor, proceeding from one end of the roving frame to the other. After moving the conveyor through one step, the gripping elements deposit the empty tubes on to the cop rotators by proceeding in the reverse direction. The same carriage loads the empty tubes on to the conveyor and unloads the cops from it at one end of the roving frame, while this latter is in operation.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1987Date of Patent: July 19, 1988Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C. S.p.A.Inventor: Pietro B. Marzoli

Patent number: 4493131Abstract: A machine for withdrawing or removing fibre staples from a set of bales of textile staples which can be displaced rectilinearly and alternately, with a carriage having a reciprocal vertical motion carrying rotary reels for removing said fibre staples from the bales is controlled by a device which comprises a plurality of detectors adapted previously to determine in the vertical sense sequential working zones for the carriage on the bales and an apparatus for automatically impressing a differential action of the carriage on the bales in relationship with the sequential preselected working areas. Thus the withdrawal of the fibre staples is obtained consistently with the compactness of the material contained in the bales without discrepancies in the production run and with a constant degree of bale-breaking.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1982Date of Patent: January 15, 1985Assignee: Fratelli Marzoli & C.
