  • Patent number: 5115620
Abstract: A wrapping machine of the present invention comprises a wrapping portion for wrapping a material, a film feeder for feeding a wrapping material (film) to the wrapping portion from a film roller, a material feeder for feeding the material to the wrapping portion, a film folding device for wrapping the material with the film at the wrapping portion, and a material transfer device for transferring the wrapped material. When a material is placed on a conveyer of the material feeder, the material abuts on a stopper to temporarily stop, and then is transferred to a lift of the material feeder. The width and length of the material are detected during the transfer. The lift then moves upward to supply the material to the wrapping portion. The film drawn from the film roller by the film feeder is supplied to the wrapping portion where the material abuts on the film from below so that the upper portion of the material is covered with the film. The film is then folded under the material by the film folding device.

  • Patent number: 4876840
Abstract: A bag covering apparatus that puts a cover, which has been folded in two at the folding portion, on the opening of a bag. The same bag covering apparatus includes a folding piece which can operate to fold the cover in two at the folding portion and a cover retaining piece provided near the folding piece, having at least two holding portions capable of holding the folding portion of the cover. The folding portion of the cover is inserted into the holding portion of the cover retaining piece by the action of the folding piece, the cover retaining piece being movable such that when one of the holding pieces of the cover retaining piece faces the opening of the bag, the other holding piece of the cover retaining piece faces the folding piece.

  • Patent number: 4823538
Abstract: A bagging machine comprising a bag supply device, a bag-opening device, a bag-sealing device mounted on one side of the bag-opening device, and a bag-moving device. The bag supply device includes a mounting member and a first bag-attracting portion mounted to the mounting member that reciprocates between a bag supply position and a bag opening position. The bag-opening device has a second bag-attracting portion which faces the first bag-attracting portion when the mounting member of the bag supply device is in the bag opening position. The second bag-opening portion can move toward and away from the first bag-attracting portion. The bag-moving device has a pair of openable holding members. The holding members reciprocate between the bag-opening device and the bag-sealing device, and close the opening of a bag by holding the opening between themselves.

  • Patent number: 4739605
Abstract: In a method and device for barrel-binding and packaging articles, a first end of packaging material is pinched between a fixed seal member and a first pinching member movable with respect to the fixed seal member. The first end and a coupling end of the packaging material is pinched between the fixed seal member and a movable seal member confronting the fixed seal member with the articles bound by the packaging material. The coupling end is then pinched between the first pinching member and a second pinching member and a pushing-in member is inserted between the fixed seal member and the first pinching member in response to separation of the first pinching member for pinching the first and coupling ends. The first and coupling ends of the packaging material are then joined between the fixed and movable seal members while they are pinched between the seal members and thereafter the coupling end is cut by a cutting blade at the inserted end of the pushing-in member.
