Abstract: A cache control program that reduces cache control load. The cache control programs functions as a multi-bind cache (MBC) manager of a file server. The MBC manager manages a cache memory as a plurality of extents. The MBC manager generates cache IDs including object identifications for identifying the objects of each hierarchical level. Further, the MBC manager generates a cache header table indicating the relation of the cache IDs and the cache extents for each hierarchical level.

Abstract: When a signature is registered, a signature in Japanese characters, for example, ‘’ (‘Fujitsu’), or a signature in English characters, for example, ‘Fujitsu’ is input n times through an input device of an input equipment of a signature authentication system, and each element of the shape of handwriting, writing speed, writing acceleration, and writing pressure is computed. A combination of nC2 is set for each element of the data input n times, the reciprocal of each similarity is obtained, an average value of the similarity is computed for each element, a weight is determined for each similarity from the average value, a weighted average value of the four elements is computed and defined as the total similarity of the registered signature. In an authenticating process, signature data to be compared is input/output m times. In the same method, the total similarity of a signature to be compared is obtained.

Abstract: A file server program that performs proper load distribution among a plurality of file servers. One of the plurality of file servers judges whether to perform a process in compliance with a request to manipulate a file on the basis of judgment conditions predefined for judging which process of processes performed by a cluster it should take charge of when it receives the request to manipulate a file of requests to manipulate a file sent to the plurality of file servers included in the cluster. If it judges that it must perform a process in compliance with the request to manipulate a file, it performs a process on a storage device which it manages in compliance with the request to manipulate a file.
