Abstract: This invention relates to a herbicidal foam composition comprising, on the basis of the total weight of the composition, (a) a herbicide selected from the group consisting of Bialaphos, Glufosinate, Glyphosate and a mixture thereof, (b) an anionic and/or nonionic surfactant(s), (c) a solvent, (d) a foam controlling agent selected from the group consisting of silicone oil, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alcohol and a mixture thereof, (e) water as a diluent and (f) liquefied petroleum gas as a propellant, the pH of said composition being adjusted to within about 3-11.
Abstract: A heat fumigation apparatus for transpiring a solution of a chemical agent dissolved in a solvent by heating which comprises a container having the solution therein, a wick a part of which is immersed in the solution and a heater for heating the upper portion of the wick thereby transpiring the solution drawn up the wick. The wick is composed of an inorganic powder and/or an organic powder, a binding agent and at least one antioxidant which is substantially non-evaporative at a heating temperature.
Abstract: A PTC heating device which is widely applicable as a heating source to a variety of electronic apparatuses such as an electronic mosquito destroyer an electronic jar and the like. The PTC heating device includes a porcelain casing in which an electrode structure comprising a PTC thermistor having electrodes arranged on both surfaces thereof and two electrode plates interposing the thermistor therebetween is received in a manner such that terminals of the electrode plates is downwardly led out through the porcelain casing. The PTC heating device also includes a heat radiating plate arranged through an insulating plate on the electrode structure and provided at flanges thereof with a plurality of holding pawls which are located at positions apart from the terminals of the electrode plates on a bottom surface of the porcelain casing to securely hold the heat radiating plate and the porcelain casing together and ensure an adequate insulating distance between the holding pawls and the terminals.
Abstract: An apparatus for evaporating a solution in constant proportions of the ingredients, including:(a) a solution container having a neck that extends upward from the center;(b) an impregnation member to be impregnated with the solution which is made of a water-absorbing material;(c) an impregnation member support;(d) a cylindrical tubular member that is fitted over a cylindrical tube that projects upward from the center of said support to thereby define an enclosed space;(e) a feed pipe inserted through the hole made in the center of said support, the lower part of said pipe being immersed in the solution in the container and the upper part thereof being within said cylindrical tubular member; and(f) a hole or slit made in the container and the impregnation support member so as to provide a passage that communicates the atmosphere with the space formed in the container by mounting the impregnation member support on the container, the impregnation member support being in the form of a supporting plate from the cent
Abstract: A thermoevaporative insecticidal apparatus comprises a heat generating element 1 closely fitted to a porous carrier 6 the surface of which is impregnated with an effective ingredient and a receptacle 7 composed of a receiving tray 8 on which a plurality of supporting stands are disposed said heat generating element 1 being supported on the receptacle 7 so that said porous carrier 6 faces down opposite the receiving tray 8 and that said tray 8 is spaced from said porous carrier 6 by a distance of at least 1 cm; anda safety container assembly for use in the above type thermoevaporative insecticidal apparatus wherein a heat resistant supporting member 18 is attached to the annular outer surrounding walls 13 of a container member 14 so that said heat generating element is supportable by said heat resistant supporting member 18.
Abstract: A method of enhancing the activity of a fast evaporating insecticide characterized by incorporating in a pyrethroid insecticide one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a phthalic ester, aliphatic ester, aliphatic dibasic ester, aromatic carboxylic ester, higher aliphatic alcohol, polyhydric alcohol, glycol ether and a hydrocarbon having 10 or more carbon atoms and one or more antioxidants.
