Publication number: 20170327314Abstract: The present invention is a self adjusting carrier tool that allows for the gripping, lifting, and carrying of objects. The tool is able to lift a large range of object widths without requiring large changes in tool height during operation. It accomplishes this through tongs retained by sliding friction-lock pivots acting against locking arms pivotally attached to opposing tongs. When the handle is lifted the action of these pivots allow the tongs to sweep a constant and effective angle against the the lifted object throughout the working range of the tool. At the limit of tong rotation the sliding friction-lock pivots engage and prevent any further movement of the tongs. Further lifting of the tool by the handle will then result in lifting of the tool and object together. The object will remain secured by the carrier tool until it is unloaded and the floating friction locks disengage.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2017Publication date: November 16, 2017Applicant: Formed From Function LLC.Inventor: Daniel Thomas Germata

Patent number: 6679081Abstract: An improved cooling system provides cooling away from the surface of electrical and electronic components with very low parasitic power consumption and very high heat transfer rates. The component to be cooled is in thermal contact with a cold plate evaporator device. Refrigerant is circulated by a liquid refrigerant pump to the cold plate evaporator device, and the liquid refrigerant is at least partially evaporated by the heat generated by the component. The vapor is condensed by a conventional condenser coil and the condensed liquid along with any unevaporated liquid is returned to the pump. The system operates nearly isothermally in both evaporation and condensation.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2002Date of Patent: January 20, 2004Assignee: Thermal Form & Function, LLCInventor: Joseph Marsala

Publication number: 20020029876Abstract: An improved heat sink is used to cool electrical and electronic components that generate heat. The heat sink comprises at least one primary corrugated fin pack having a continuous series of vertically extending fins defining channels between adjacent pairs of the vertically extending fins. At least one secondary corrugated fin pack fits within the channels of the primary corrugated fin pack, creating a fin pack matrix. The fin pack matrix is then attached to a base plate.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2001Publication date: March 14, 2002Applicant: Thermal Form & Function LLCInventor: David W. Fast

Publication number: 20020007935Abstract: An improved cold plate cooling system provides cooling away from the surface of electrical and electronic components with very low parasitic power consumption and very high heat transfer rates. The component to be cooled is in thermal contact with a cold plate. A fin material is inserted in the cold plate and refrigerant is circulated through the fin, allowing the cold plate and fin to transfer heat from the electrical or electronic components, as the liquid refrigerant is at least partially evaporated by the heat generated by the components.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2001Publication date: January 24, 2002Applicant: Thermal Form & Function LLCInventor: Joseph Marsala
