  • Patent number: 10328359
Abstract: A rotatable reel 100 for an entertainment machine comprises a circumferential lateral surface 101 and an internal frame structure 102. The reel 100 is provided with illumination means 110. The illumination means 110 are provided in a circumferentially mounted row, the row aligned with the direction of rotation about the central axis X. The illumination means 110 are activated by an illumination control unit at frequencies related to the rotation frequency of the rotatable reel 100 about central axis X.

Abstract: A topper for an entertainment machine (1) is provided. The topper includes a display comprising a screen (9) arranged such that an image projected onto one side of the screen may be viewed from the opposite side of the screen. The invention enables a display of a gaming machine or associated topper to be provided by a back projected image. This enables the display content to be changed without having to physically change the screen or any associated artwork. Screens on to which images can be back projected are much less costly than electronic displays and can easily be provided in any desired shape. A further topper for an entertainment machine is also provided, the topper including a display comprising a screen (9) onto which an image can be projected, and a projector (11) arranged to project an image onto the screen.

  • Patent number: 7804037
Abstract: A push button assembly comprises a button (1) with an actuating structure (5) movably mounted within a housing (2) for operation of a switch (20). The housing (2) provides a frame (18) comprising side wall structures (16), with a flange structure (15) mounted at a top open end thereof, The axial length of the housing (2) is shorter than the horizontal length of the side wall structures (16), resulting in a short push button assembly. The button (1) is illuminable via a lamp (25) which is provided on a carrier strip (22), the switch (20) being mounted on a body (19), both of which can be removably mounted substantially within the confines of the housing (2), with respective connection terminals (23, 21) projecting outward thereof, the assembly therefore occupying minimal space behind a panel when mounted on such a panel of an amusement or gaming machine where space may be restricted.

  • Publication number: 20090036209
Abstract: A player control assembly (1) can be used with a game machine (7) and comprises a control panel (11) of said machine which has player-operable switches and function indicators for said switches. The assembly (1) further comprises a projector (4) which is arranged to project the function indicators onto the control panel (11) and therefore onto the switches. The switches may be virtual (12-15) or mechanical or both types may be provided. Where mechanical switches are provided the function indicators, which may comprise text/graphics/animations, may be projected relative to these switches. Where virtual switches (12-15) are projected onto said control panel (11) with said function indicators, as part of an image, the assembly (1) may comprise a sensor (5) to identify player interaction with the projected switches (12-15).

  • Patent number: 7060922
Abstract: A push button switch has a housing, a switch actuator movably supported by the housing, an organic light emitting diode display supported by the housing in a position to be viewable by a user of the push button switch, and a switch supported by the housing so as to operable by the switch actuator when the switch actuator moves relative to the housing. A controller circuit is electrically coupled to the push button switch so as to control the organic light emitting diode display in response to operation of the switch.

  • Patent number: 6727652
Abstract: A lamp assembly, particularly for an entertainment machine, is made from one or more LEDs soldered to a printed circuit board (pcb). The pcb has an edge region with contacts which is constructed to fit into a lamp holder. The lamp assembly can be used in substitution for a conventional wedge-based push-fit bulb. The pcb edge region may be constructed so that it can only fit one way round in the lamp holder, or the pcb may include circuitry which allows connection either way round (either polarity).

  • Publication number: 20040061423
Abstract: A lamp assembly has one or more lamps (8, 9), particularly LED lamps, with terminals (11) attached to a circuit board (10) so as to be supported by the board. The lamp terminals (11) are connected via conductive pathways (12) to edge contacts (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3) on the board which can be inserted into a lamp holder (1) so that the board (10) is supported by the lamp holder (1) and the edge contacts (A1-3, B1-3) conductively engage electrical contacts (5) in the lamp holder (1). The lamp terminals (11) are attached to positions (13) on the pathways (12) on opposite sides of the board (10) so that the lamp (8, 9) straddles the board, preferably symmetrically. Where there are two or more lamps (8, 9) these are connected to different combinations of pathways (12) and edge contacts (A1-3, B1-3) so that they can be operated independently.
