  • Patent number: 5407123
Abstract: A brush auger machine for assembling a brush to an auger is disclosed. The machine includes a frame for supporting an auger having a shaft and a spiral blade. A welding station is adjacent the frame. A guide chute receives the continuous brush and defines a diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the completed brush auger assembly. A discharge frame is positioned adjacent the welding station and includes a motor driven chuck which holds and rotates the end of the auger shaft. The motor and chuck are mounted on a movable platform. Welding is completed at the welding station and rotation of the auger shaft moves the assembly and the platform along the discharge frame.

  • Patent number: 5184996
Abstract: A carton assembly machine for assembling a cover on a base is disclosed. The machine includes a frame and a first conveyor for transporting a plurality of bases. A second conveyor transports a plurality of folded covers. At an unfolding station, suction cups grasp the folded cover and are pivoted to open the cover. The cover is then moved to an assembly station where it is positioned over a carton base. A plurality of hand assemblies are moved vertically downwardly to grasp the cover and move it into overlying relationship with the base. The hand assemblies are then removed and the assembled carton moved to a tape station where tape heads apply a strip of tape to the assembled cover and base. After taping, the assembled carton is removed from the carton assembly machine.

  • Patent number: 4789418
Abstract: A high speed tape machine for applying tape to carton assemblies is disclosed. The tape machine includes spaced sidewalls and a tape assembly for supporting a roll of tape depending from the sidewalls. A stripper cylinder having a reciprocating stripper roller pulls tape from the roll. A tape head is pivoted to the sidewalls and directs tape from the roll to a carton assembly moving along a predetermined path. A trigger retards rotation of the tape head. A knife cuts the tape after the tape is applied to a carton. A wipe down assembly including pressing rollers engages the tape after its application to the carton assembly and presses the tape against the carton assembly.
