    Abstract: A sucker rod transfer assembly for handling a sucker rod prior to the sucker rod being installed for use in a well. The transfer assembly includes an elongated body having a cavity that receives an end of the sucker rod. A slot is formed in an end wall of the body, and an opening extends lengthwise along the body that exposes the cavity. The sucker rod is engaged with the transfer assembly by inserting a tip and shoulder of the sucker rod laterally into the opening while sliding a portion of the sucker rod below the shoulder into the slot. The sucker rod is axially supported in the transfer assembly by interfering contact between the shoulder and edges of the slot. A spring selectively biases safety rings around the sucker rod end to retain the sucker rod end in the cavity.

    Abstract: The present invention is an add-on tool to the standard barrel wrench that comprises a heavy duty T-shaped member and a foot ring where the operator fits their foot into the ring and applies force. Using the device of the present invention the operator no longer needs to stand on an angled surface and hope the barrel will instantly snap open after a few bounces without slipping and falling. The interior diameter (ID) of the foot ring of the device is about 6.5 inches which offers plenty of room for the operator to insert their foot in and apply pressure to the Barrel.

    Abstract: An apparatus for blocking discharge from a flanged pipe coupling, including a strap configured to surround, and cover a gap between flanges. The apparatus includes a tensioning mechanism with a lever pivotally coupled to the strap, a clamp pin mounted on the opposing end of the strap, and an adjustment pin on a side of the clamp pin opposite the lever. Holes extend through ends of the clamp and adjustment pins. The tensioning mechanism includes a bolt having ends, and a mid-portion looped around the lever, so that portions of the bolt on opposing ends of the mid-portion are generally parallel and project through the holes. A fastener is mounted onto each bolt end on a side of the adjustment pin opposite the clamp pin. When the lever pivots away from the clamp pin, contact between the lever and bolt urges the ends of the strap together, increasing tension therein.

    Abstract: An elevator for raising and lowering a string in a wellbore includes left and right bodies hinged together that selectively open and close. The elevator can be a tubing elevator, and the string can be a tubing string, casing, or drill string. Semi-circular channels on an inner surface of each of the bodies face one another when the bodies are in the closed position and define a circular collar for engaging the string. A retainer on one of the bodies selectively pivots into latching engagement with a lug on the other body to hold the bodies in the closed position. A boss projects radially inward from an inner surface of the retainer and a retainer pin selectively is moveable adjacent the boss to lock the retainer in its latching engagement with the lug. The pin moves to adjacent the boss when the elevator contacts a collar.
