Abstract: A housing including a support arm arrangement for a basket mounted paper shredder wherein the support arms have curved or rounded outside perimeters and at least one of the support arms has a curved or rounded inside support rib arrangement to more closely conform to a rounded waste paper basket. The support arm arrangement allows the paper shredder to be mounted to both round and rectangular waste paper baskets. The housing also provides a streamlined shape including a tapered generally triangular motor wiring compartment.

Abstract: A machine is disclosed for withdrawing a spiral coil from a prepacked cartridge set of coils and spirally feeding that coil to a coil guide. A stack of sheets having prepunched holes along a side edge thereof is located so that its prepunched holes are aligned with the coil guide. A rotatable drive roller, proximate the coil guide, engages the withdrawn coil and spirally feeds the coil through the coil guide, such that the spirals of the coil sequentially pass through the prepunched holes. After the lead end of the coil has passed through the prepunched holes of the stack of sheets, it is crimped. The drive roller then reverses direction to spirally feed the coil backwards through the coil guide, whereupon the tail end of the coil is crimped. The movements in the machine are designed to vary dependent upon size of the coil.

Abstract: A cartridge box serves as supply container for a plurality of spiral coil elements and is thus suitable for use in a system for automated repetitive spiral binding of sheet stacks. The cartridge box contains the individual coil elements in a series of parallel rows. One elongated opening is formed in the cartridge box top or bottom surface to expose intermediate portions of the coil elements to a driven feed roller. Another elongated opening is formed along a sidewall of the cartridge box for extraction of coil elements therethrough in endwise fashion under the influence of the feed roller.
Abstract: A method of one sided laminating and a one sided laminated product using nylon laminating film reduces the tendency of one-sided laminations to curl toward the laminating side due to moisture swelling of the paper side of the lamination.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for successively delivering ring carrier elements to a paper loading station for producing bound booklets. The apparatus provides a carrier having ring elements adhesively attached thereto in spaced apart fashion, the carrier drawn to a ring loading station where individual elements are deposited onto a comb retainer whereat a ring spreader can open the rings for loading of paper thereon. The carrier can be fashioned as a fan-folded supply or can be a wound supply, having the elements adhesively attached thereto, or threaded thereon.
Abstract: For a punch mechanism, a selector rail which by shifting can change the punch hole pattern by activating or deactivating select punches along the rail. In a preferred embodiment, the punch can be quickly changed from a three hole standard punch to a two hole standard punch by activating and deactivating two select punches. The selector rail locks to the selected punch for both driving and retraction of the punch by force of an electric motor and gear train.
