Abstract: The basin cover having evenly-spaced covering elements mounted to shelf angles along the sides of the basin. These shelf angles are retained by anchor bolts to the inside edge of the rim of the basin. Flat tabs are adjustably spaced apart along the shelf angles and respectively overlap unevenly-spaced anchor retention areas of the basin. The flange portion of the shelf angles extend in a same plane as a walkway along the rim of the basin for widening this walkway. The new cover can be installed to basins of different conditions without major custom work.
Abstract: The reservoir includes a flexible cover laid thereon. A transverse walkway extends along an end thereof. A transverse handrail is mounted along the walkway, along an inside edge of the walkway. A cover-winding gap extends under the handrail and above the walkway. This cover-winding gap extends in a plane of the handrail. The cover-winding gap extends unobstructed under the handrail and above the walkway and along the full width of the reservoir. Because of this cover-winding gap, the flexible cover can be wound up in a spool in one stride across the reservoir.
Abstract: The membrane cover has fold lines therein intersecting the walls of the reservoir at intersection points. A geometric chord or secant joins two intersection points, and defines, with a portion of the walls of the reservoir, a static segment in the membrane cover. The membrane cover in the static segment is tensioned along lines of force that are parallel to or that make acute angles, with the aforesaid chord or secant. The membrane cover in the static segment remains substantially planar and stationary, thus static, despite the rising and lowering of the remaining portion of the cover in response to variations in the level of the content of the reservoir. A hatchway is mounted in the static segment of the cover. In another aspect of the invention, the hatchway has an airtight compartment extending between the membrane cover and a point below the level of the material inside the reservoir.
