    Abstract: An apparatus for reclaiming used foundry and molding sand comprises a container having a cylinder sidewall and at least one bottom wall or tray is arranged on a sand reclamation device for the mechanical cleaning of grains of sand, particularly organically and inorganically bonded molding sands. A central, hollow drive shaft is arranged in the cylinder and is supported for rotation. The bottom walls are firmly attached to the hollow shaft. A slot is formed between the bottom walls and cylinder. By the rotation of the bottom walls a parting plane is formed between the rotating part and the stationary part of the column of sand, in which plane an intensive rubbing of grain against grain takes place. As a result of the cylindrical force, the sand is brought in the direction towards the wall of the cylinder and through the slot, which additionally leads to an intensive rubbing of grain against grain.

    Abstract: A process and a device are proposed for the casting and unpacking of clusters which, after the casting, after passage over a primary cooling path, are freed by jolting from the surrounding molded clump consisting of mold sand, whereupon, after passage over a secondary cooling path, the individual castings are separated from the cluster. The cluster is cast with a hanger which is present in front in the direction of transport, and the molded clump is conveyed over a discharge shaft for old sand against a transport hook in the manner that the hanger with the transport hook suspended, swings downward, throwing off the predominant quantity of old sand from the molded clump, whereupon the cluster is jolted.

    Abstract: An apparatus for mixing molding sand which comprises a mixing vessel having a mixing tool disposed within the mixing vessel, the mixing tool comprises an elongated shaft having a plurality of blades arranged along the elongated shaft wherein each of the plurality of blades comprises two opposed identical blade portions fitted to each other by a form fitting connection at a location adjacent the elongated shaft. The form fitting connection includes a groove and a lug on each of the opposed blade portions wherein the lug on one of the opposed blade portions engages the groove on the other opposed blade portion. The groove and lug form in part a peripheral surface of a polygonal recess on the form fitting connection which surface abuts the elongated shaft of the mixing tool when the opposed blade portions are secured to the shaft.

The drum (2) has a curved base part (8) with plate-shaped parts (9, 10) which are fastened at both sides of the latter so as to be swivelable. Depending on the swiveling movement of the drum (2), these parts (9, 10) are swiveled out so that, at a swivel angle of at least 180.degree., the casing opening (3) also changes in such a way that the centrifugal jets strike the goods to be cleaned also in the extreme outer angular positions.
