Abstract: Prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in chicken is accomplished by administering an anti-chicken coccidiosis composition adapted for oral administration. This composition contains an antibody obtained from an egg of a chicken immunized with an antigenic outermembrane protein or an immunogenic fragment thereof as an antigen having an immunogenicity common for sporozoit and merozoite of Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria tenella, and Eimeria maxima which are associated with chicken coccidiosis. The composition may optionally contain a lactic acid bacterium and/or an antibody obtained from an egg of a chicken immunized with Clostridium perfringens.

Abstract: An inhibitor of Helicobacter pylori colonization in the stomach comprises as an active ingredient a glycoprotein which specifically binds to H. pylori urease. This glycoprotein is isolated and purified from a glycoprotein-containing substance, especially that derived from bovine milk whey or albumen of chicken eggs by affinity chromatography using a column on which H. pylori urease is immobilized. The glycoprotein is able to effectively inhibit H. pylori colonization, so is useful for the prevention or treatment of diseases caused by infection of H. pylori such as peptic ulcers. A food and medicament comprising the inhibitor are also provided.
Abstract: An inhibitor composition of Helicobacter pylori adhesion in the stomach comprises (1) anti-urease antibodies obtained from eggs laid by hens which have been immunized against H. pylori urease and (2) an inhibitor of gastric acid secretion. This inhibitor is capable of completely eliminating H. pylori from the stomach, so it is useful for the prevention or treatment of diseases caused by infection of H. pylori such as peptic ulcers.
Abstract: The present invention provides specific antibodies obtained from eggs laid by hens which have been immunized against urease of Helicobacter pylori as an antigen, and specific antibodies obtained from eggs laid by hens which have been immunized against flagella of Helicobacter pylori as an antigen. These antibodies are useful for the prevention or treatment of gastritis, gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers caused by infection of Helicobacter pylori. At least one organism selected from lactic acid bacteria, Enterococcuses, yeasts, and Baillus can be used along with the antibodies.

Abstract: The present invention provides a safe and effective inhibitor of Helicobacter pylori colonization in the stomach and a food containing the inhibitor. The inhibitor of the present invention comprises as an active ingredient a mucin, especially a mucin from milk of a cow or a mucin from albumen of an egg and is useful for the prevention or treatment of diseases caused by infection of Helicobacter pylori such as peptic ulcers.
Abstract: Cell-associated glucosyltransferase of S. mutans serotypes c, e or f producing dental caries was isolated and purified and its characteristics as an enzyme were revealed. Furthermore, an antibody against said enzyme was prepared from eggs of the hens immunized with said enzyme. Since this antibody effectively prevents adherence of the aforementioned S. mutans to tooth surfaces, it is useful as an effective component for a dental caries prophylactic composition.

Abstract: A substance which contains a specific antibody or specific transfer factor-like component is produced from the yolks or albumens or both of eggs of a hen which has been immunized against a selected antigen such as a pathogenic bacteria. The substance is active against the antigen, and is useful for protecting animals from attack by the same antigen as used in immunization of the hen. It is also useful as additives in food for animals, cosmetics, and medicines. The transfer factor-like component is recovered from a fraction of at most 10,000 in molecular weight of the yolks or albumens or both of the eggs.
