  • Patent number: 6546834
Abstract: A panel sawing machine comprises a horizontal table (5) on which a movable device (6) pushes a stack of panels (3a) in a forward direction (F) or reverse direction (F1) to feed a sawing device (or to a device for rotating the stack) which divides the panel up into two or more smaller boards. The pusher (6) is equipped with two or more pickup elements (16) that hold the rear edge of the stack in position during positioning and/or sawing operations. The pickup elements (16) are mounted on the movable device (6) in such a way that they can run in guides (15, 15a, 15b) in the following three directions, respectively: horizontal at right angles to, and horizontal parallel to, the forward direction (F) or the reverse direction (F1), and vertical.

  • Patent number: 6481954
Abstract: The feeding method concerns the transfer of panels (2) from the top of a vertical stack (17) to a loading table (4) on a panel saw machine. The panels (2) are pushed by mobile horizontal pushers (7) from the stack (17) until they arrive at an infeed device (8) which conveys the panels (2) to the loading table (4). The pushers (7) and the vertical stack (17) perform relative movements controlled by control means (70), so as to allow the pushers (7) to transfer from the stack (17) one or more panels (2), depending on the extent (h) of the relative translation. The infeed device (8) comprises at least two pairs of rollers, each pair comprising a motor-driven roller and an idler roller. The center distance of a pair of rollers may be adjusted by adjusting the idler roller.

  • Patent number: 6178864
Abstract: A device for sawing stacks of panels comprises cutting means consisting of a pair of similar carriages located on opposite sides of the stack. Each carriage mounts a first and a second circular saw and a first and a second circular scoring saw. Both carriages can move in two directions along an axis transversal to the feed axis of the stack so as to make a first and a second cut to corresponding defined first and second cutting depths and substantially coinciding in a vertical plane in such a way as to saw right through the stack of panels.

  • Patent number: 5346358
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically stacking differently sized packs of panels (P), or may be differently sized panels, formed by a dividing apparatus, on respective lifting platforms, such that packs of panels (P) of a same size will be stacked on one and the same lifting platform. The rows (H) of packs of panels (P) moved out of a cutting machine in the dividing apparatus, are shifted in a parallel direction to the final cutting line (Z) in the dividing apparatus. The rows (H) consisting of a plurality of successive packs of panels (P) having a same length but an even differentiated width, are fed to at least one transport runway (12) arranged at right angles thereto. The single packs of panels (P), or the single panels, composing a panel row (H), are then individually transferred to the transport runway (12) so as to be mutually set in line thereon in the same way.

  • Patent number: 5257900
Abstract: Apparatus for turning by 90.degree. a panel or a panel stack (P) on a cutting machine worktable (Q) comprises a withdrawable gripper means (1) rotatable about a vertical axis (2), which upon control clamps a panel stack (P) close to one of its rear corners. The gripper (1) is associated with a carriage (7) for causing the gripper (1) to perform in a programmable precise manner a rectilinear movement (3) near to, and away from the cutting line (Z) of the longitudinally cutting machine, such that the panel stack (P) will be turned in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, depending whether it is clamped at its left-hand or right-hand corner. A withdrawable push roller (4) acts on the panel stack (P) concurrently with the gripper by being moved parallel to the longitudinally cutting machine in a programmable precise manner, so that it assists in the desired turning of the panel stack (P).

  • Patent number: 4970927
Abstract: The hub (3) of the circular or disc-saw is supported, at the end adjacent to the saw, by at least one swingable radial bearing (6), while at the opposite end, driven for rotation by the pulley (28), the hub is supported by a servo-control (10-12) by which the axis of the hub can be maintained in line with the axis of rotation or said axes can be spaced apart angularly by rotation about a common point thereof, whereby the teeth of the saw will have a composite rotational movement and symmetrical side oscillation, with a frequency proportional to the rotational speed of the saw and with an amplitude proportional to the spacing of the axes and to the radius of the saw. The saw is used to score the panels which are subsequently cut through by the saw while being driven only in rotation.

  • Patent number: 4576536
Abstract: Panel packs, made available cyclically at the outlet of a dividing machine and arranged side by side, are transferred to a station from which they are discharged simultaneously, either into a conventional stacking unit of the wedge and lifting platform type, or, after a 90.degree. rotation, into a composite transport runway where the packs are arranged either side by side or in sequence. Laterally of the runway are parallel rows of lifting platforms on which are stacked the packs of panels coming from the transport runway, so that panels of the same size will be stacked on each platform. Finally, the stacks of panels are discharged from the various lifting platforms and transferred to conveyors and sorters.

  • Patent number: 4367999
Abstract: Apparatus for the automatic discharge of wood panels from the workpiece support (A) of a machining line onto lifting and lowering supports (8, 9) so as to form stacks of superposed panels, comprising a tilting table (1) which can be tilted around a fulcrum axis (2) so as to bring its discharge edge (101) in close proximity with the upper supporting surface of the lifting and lowering support (8, 9). Transverse abutment means (10, 14) cooperate with the supporting surface of the tilting table in such a manner that, whenever the inclined tilting table is horizontally moved transversally to the abutment means, the panels lying thereon are discharged onto the underlying lifting and lowering support, since they are prevented by the abutment means from following the movement of the tilting table.

  • Patent number: 4334450
Abstract: A saw-carrying carriage consists of a supporting frame movable along horizontal guides, onto which frame there is vertically movably mounted a structure which carries the circular saw and the electric motor for driving it. The vertically movable structure comprises a pair of vertical rods slidable within vertical tubular guides secured to the supporting frame. The top ends of the vertical rods are conically shaped, and the top ends of the vertical tubular guides have downwardly directed hollow conical seats. The bottom ends of the vertical rods of the movable structure are connected to a bar to which are also secured the stems of two piston-and-cylinder units, the cylinders of each unit being secured to the supporting frame of the carriage. In this manner, retraction of the stems inside the cylinders will promote lifting of the movable unit which carries the saw.

  • Patent number: 4206670
Abstract: The device for the longitudinal trimming of a panel or stack of panels to be fed to a panel cutting machine comprises an elevating table onto which there is loaded a pile of panels. The elevating table is raised a predetermined distance so as to bring to the level of the panel support table of the cutting machine a stack of a predetermined number of panels. The stack of panels is transversely and longitudinally aligned, by means of transversal and lateral abutment or reference members, is then pushed a predetermined distance in the transverse direction and is then subjected to the action of a longitudinal trimming saw which cuts one or more strips from the side of the stack of panels. The thus reduced stack of panels is then fed to a crosscut saw on the panel support table to be subjected to transverse cutting and other panel sizing operations.

  • Patent number: 4065991
Abstract: The strips to be fed to a cutting line are positioned side by side on a supporting table. Above the table there is arranged a structure which is movable transversally with respect to the feeding direction of the strips. On the underside of the structure there are provided two pusher carriers, in the form of elongated bars carrying a plurality of pushers intended to engage the strips on the table. Each pusher carrier is movable, independently with respect to the other one, towards and away from the cutting line. The pusher carriers can be moved transversally with respect to the feeding direction, so that each one of the pusher carriers can selectively engage a predetermined number of strips. Thereafter, the pusher carriers are moved towards the cutting line independently the one from the other, with consequent variations of the amount of feed of the strips, which will eventually result into obtaining panels of different sizes from the different strips.
