Abstract: An apparatus and a corresponding method for singling value documents includes: an input device which is devised for receiving a stack of value documents, a transport device which is devised for drawing a value document from a stack of value documents located in the input device, and a transport element, which is devised to influence the drawing of the value document from the stack of value documents. At least one sensor is provided which is devised to capture a size of the stack located in the input device, in particular a height of the stack and/or a fill level of the input device, and a density of the stack. A control device is devised to control the transport device and/or the transport element based on the captured size of the stack and/or the captured density of the stack.

Abstract: In an areal security element having microreflectors, in particular for manufacturing value documents such as bank notes, cheques or the like, the areal security element has a principal plane and the microreflectors present at least one object which upon tilting and/or rotating the security element has a motion effect which is related to the principal plane. It is provided that the security element has at least a first and a second microreflector pattern which differ from each other both with respect to the object it presents and with respect to the motion effect produced, wherein the first microreflector pattern is configured such that the motion effect runs at least partly perpendicular to the principal plane, and the second microreflector pattern is configured such that the motion effect runs in the principal plane or parallel thereto.

Abstract: A shredding apparatus for value documents, includes two mutually counter-rotatable roller-shaped cutting devices which are disposed opposite each other with reference to a transport path of the value documents to be shredded, in order to cut up the value documents transported along the transport path with the aid of the cutting edges into a multiplicity of value document shreds. A stripper is allocated to each of the cutting devices, which stripper has several stripper elements arranged parallel to each other, which stripper elements engage between the cutting edges of the respective cutting device in order to remove the value document shreds from the cutting edges. The shape of the stripper elements is chosen such that the stripper elements on the front side of the respective cutting device, the front side facing the transport path of the value documents, engage between the cutting edges of the respective cutting device.

Abstract: A system for processing value documents and a corresponding method, include an apparatus for processing value documents, a housing in which the apparatus is integrated and/or a support on which the apparatus is arranged, and a recording device provided in or on the housing and/or on the support for recording actions carried out by an operating person while operating the apparatus. The system and method provide a more reliable recording of the actions performed by the operating person and enables a more reliable later check of the operating process.

Abstract: A security element for manufacturing value documents provides at least one image, formed by a grating structure which has a plurality of trough-shaped microcavities. The microcavities have a structure width from 0.5 ?m to 3 ?m and an aspect ratio of 0.4 or greater, a metal-containing coating is applied to the grating structure, and in the grating structure the trough-shaped microcavities are separated from each other respectively by strips which are planar and respectively more than 200 nm and maximally 1,200 nm wide.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for checking value documents marked with feature substances, and to the corresponding feature substances. The feature substances are detected on the basis of Raman or SERS spectroscopy also at high transport speeds with a spatial resolution in the low millimeter region or better and reliably identified.
