Abstract: A mouth rinsing device comprising a pump housing and a reservoir. These two housings are arranged in series; i.e., the reservoir is attached to the base of the pump housing. A riser tube having a head on its end is situated on the pump housing and is fixed there by means of a lock so that only the head protrudes. When the reservoir is attached the lock is simultaneously released, so that the riser tube is able to slide into the reservoir and the intake opening is situated just above the base. After the reservoir is removed, the riser tube may be pushed in again manually. The riser tube is subsequently fixed in the retracted position by locking the head to the base of the pump housing.

Abstract: Electric toothbrushes have a replaceable head part having a brush head and a hand part provided with a drive motor for the brush. When a head part is pushed onto the hand part, a drive pin which performs an axial stroke motion is connected to the brush head. A gear mechanism in the head part transmits the stroke motion of the drive pin, for example in a stroke motion of the brush head, upon which a lateral tilting motion is superimposed. However, the stroke of the drive pin provided by some hand parts is not matched to the desired stroke of the brush head. Therefore, a stroke transmission gear mechanism is provided in the head part in the mechanical linkage between the drive pin and the brush head, the drive rod of the stroke transmission gear mechanism being connected to the drive pin, and the stroke transmission gear mechanism in particular is installed in such a way that a stroke reduction occurs.

Abstract: An electric toothbrush with a handle and a brush member having a brush head, individual cylindrical bristle holders with tufts of bristles held rotatably in the brush head. They are set into an oscillatory rotating movement by means of a connecting rod executing a reciprocating sliding movement and simultaneously an oscillatory movement about its longitudinal axis, with transverse grooves, disposed therein. In addition, a bristle holder plate in the brush head is held so as to oscillate about a shaft running in the longitudinal direction of the toothbrush. Thus, during the oscillatory movement of the bristle holders the bristle holder plate swivels back and forth in synchronism with the connecting rod.

Abstract: An electric toothbrush having a cam disc mounted at the free end of a toothbrush shaft and which engages between two follower pins of a bristle carrier disc. The form of the cam disc is approximately elliptical. This causes it to impart a reciprocating motion to the bristle carrier disc when the toothbrush shaft is driven in rotation.

Abstract: A fluid reservoir for an oral hygiene appliance has a floor valve in its floor which opens when the reservoir is placed on the oral hygiene appliance. The fluid reservoir is subdivided into two separate fluid chambers, each with a fluid outlet leading to the floor valve. The fluid outlets can be controlled by a manually operable selector valve in such a way that one fluid outlet is opened and the other is closed alternately.
