Patent number: 10861277Abstract: A serpentine product dispenser has a substantially āSā-shaped down chute between a cartridge containing rolling products, an exit port, and a lower feed channel leading to a product selection area. Jam-free feeding of cans from the cartridge is accomplished by forming the down chute in three arcuate sections. An upper arcuate section causes a first can falling through the exit port to impact a second can still in the dispenser, delaying motion of the second can, such that a third can follows the first can. A central arcuate section causes the first can to maintain rolling contact with a second can still in the cartridge, further facilitating the movement of the third can toward and into the down chute. A lower arcuate section directs cans toward the dispenser lower feed ramp and product selection area after they traverse the down chute upper and central arcuate sections.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2014Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignees: RTC INDUSTRIES, INC., GiRAFFX DESIGN, LLCInventors: Jamie Bauer, Joel Barenbrugge

Patent number: 9659426Abstract: A serpentine dispenser and cartridge system provides simplified stocking and restocking, as well as jam-free dispenser feeding. A cartridge priming flap allows a cartridge be inverted and inserted into a dispenser while products in the cartridge are prevented from falling out. Cartridge opening is completed by holding an priming flap while pushing the cartridge into the dispenser. In other embodiments, a dispenser wedge applies pressure on rolling products, forcing a retaining flap open, as the cartridge is pushed into the dispenser. The wedge can also constrain rolling products to exit the cartridge in an order that prevents jamming.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2014Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Assignee: Giraffx Design, LLCInventor: Jamie D. Patent number: 8955695Abstract: A serpentine dispenser for dispensing stacks of nested cans from a cartridge allows cans to be dispensed without slip sheets between individual cans, or internal dispenser walls separating can facings. Jam-free dispenser feeding is achieved by constructing a cartridge holding area wider than the dispenser down chute, such that the cartridge may be easily inserted and removed from the dispenser, but cans exiting the cartridge are maintained in a nested stack by the narrower width of the down chute. A lower feed channel that is narrower than the cartridge holding area maintains cans in a nested stack as they are delivered to a product selection area. The product selection area is wider than the lower feed channel so that individual cans may un-nest and be individually selected. In some embodiments, the product selection area is extended to allow two stacks of nested cans to separate, forming a self-facing dispenser.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2014Date of Patent: February 17, 2015Assignee: Giraffx Design, LLCInventor: Jamie D. Patent number: 8788091Abstract: A modular vending and display system and a method of operation of the system, which is especially applicable to high-value and pilfer-prone products such as prestige fragrances, and to self-service shopping environments. The system enables shoppers to self-sample various scents and self-dispense fragrance product packages for later purchase. The system uses a plurality of modules which, upon actuation by a shopper, convey a package toward the shopper within individual enclosures such that only one package can be removed at a time, and then de-activate for a time delay period to prevent rapid removal of multiple packages from the module. The modules may interact, so that once a shopper has selected a product at one module in the system, other modules are also de-activated during the delay period. This reduces pilferage by making it difficult to remove more than one package during the delay period from a group of modules.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2010Date of Patent: July 22, 2014Assignee: Giraffx Design, LLCInventor: Jamie D.
