Abstract: A method of providing packaged food items on display in a retail store includes preparing a plurality of food body portions of respective food items and loading each of the food items into respective cavities of a container. The container has a lid with at least one protrusion extending downward from a planar upper surface of the lid. After decorating each of the food body portions of the food items with a decoration portion on an upper surface of the food body portion, the lid is closed thereby moving a first retainer of the protrusion to overlie a first marginal portion adjacent the decoration portion of a first upper surface of a first food item and moving a second retainer of the protrusion to overlie a second marginal portion adjacent the decoration portion of a second upper surface of a second food item.
Abstract: A retainer for temporarily holding in place a pair of inclined roof panels of a decorative edible structure includes a first hook surface on a body for engaging a first lower edge of a first inclined roof panel and a second hook surface on the body for engaging a second lower edge of a second inclined roof panel. The first and second hook surfaces are spaced apart from each other along the body, and when in use, the body holds the first and second hook surfaces in engagement with the first and second lower edges. Decorative edible structures using such retainers, a kit of parts including such retainers, and corresponding methods of constructing decorative edible structures using such retainers are also disclosed.
Abstract: A combination of a container and a plurality of food items nested within the container may include base and a first cavity in the base. A first food item may be nested in the first cavity. The first food item may include a decorated section. The first food item may include a disposable wrapper having an exposed upper wrapper edge. The container may include a lid moveable between a closed position and an open position. A first retainer may be on the lid. When the lid is in the closed position the first retainer may overlie a first portion of the upper wrapper edge. When the container is inverted with the lid in the closed position relative axial movement between the first food item and the first cavity may be limited by contact between the first retainer and the upper wrapper edge.
