Patents Assigned to GKN Driveline S.A.
  • Patent number: 8267801
Abstract: A homokinetic joint is described that comprises a male member with several arms, a female member for receiving the male member, a roller mounted and freely rotating on each arm, a spring provided between the male member and the female member and for urging the male member away from the female member, and a cup provided between the spring and the male member. The cup includes a skirt comprising an outer surface designed to contact at least one of the rollers when the joint is in a separated state.

  • Patent number: 7775892
Abstract: A shaft includes endpieces welded to a tube shaft. The endpieces include a central axis; a first portion having a first end that is a connection end; and a second portion that is tubular and that is adapted to be welded to the tube. The second axial portion defines a second free end and has an outer surface, an inner surface, and an end-wall surface defined by an end-wall generatrix. The inner surface is of a shape that flares towards the second free end and is defined by an inner generatrix different from the end-wall generatrix. The endpiece is applicable to transmission shafts in motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 7753799
Abstract: A constant velocity joint (1) comprising: a male element (2) with multiple arms (4), a female element (8) having a central axis (X?-X?) and defining tracks (9A, 9B) which are symmetrical in relation to a radial longitudinal plane (P), and an outer roller (12) with a rolling surface (30). The tracks and the rolling surface define two contact points (Z1, Z2) therebetween. The tangent planes of the track and rolling surface coincide and are parallel to the plane (P) at not less than one contact point. The cross profiles of the tracks and rolling surface at not less than one contact point are rectilinear or convex.
