  • Patent number: 5569225
Abstract: An improved disposable container is provided for the collection and testing of bodily fluid samples such a urine specimens. The improved disposable container includes a collection bag that is sealably attached to a tubular member equipped with a lower valve means. A protective sleeve surrounds the collection bag and protects both the patients hands as well as the medical technicians hands during transport and handling of the container once the specimen is deposited therein. The lower end of the collection bag includes an injection site through which a technician may obtain a test sample. Specifically, a syringe may be inserted at the injection site and a test sample of fluid may be safely withdrawn through the injection site, through the syringe and into a test tube. The injection site includes a resilient elastomeric membrane which automatically reseals itself after withdrawal of the syringe.

Abstract: An improved disposable container is provided for the collection and testing of bodily fluid samples, such as urine specimens. The improved container includes a collection bag sealably attached to a tubular member equipped with a lower valve means. A protective sleeve surrounds the collection bag and protects both the patient's hands as well as the medical technician's hands during transport and handling of the container once the specimen is deposited therein. The tubular member preferably includes an upper closure means with an access hole disposed therein. After the specimen is disposed through the tubular member and into the collection bag, the closure means disposed on top of the tubular member is closed and a test strip is deposited through the access means. Then, the sleeve is flipped upward and the open end of the sleeve is closed or sealed thereby closing the disposable container and sealably containing the specimen therein.

  • Patent number: 5022095
Abstract: The invention relates to an inexpensive, disposable liner for hard hats. The liner is shaped to be inserted into and resiliently engage the lower periphery of a hard hat. The liner includes an elastic band attached to the lower edge of the liner so that the liner can be slipped over the beak and the interior support of the hard hat. The liner is preferably made of a soft, breathable material which will prevent the buildup of moisture, and which will feel comfortable to the user. The sides of the liner are elongated so that the liner can be folded over the lower periphery of the hard hat. The elastic band attached to the lower edge of the liner allows the liner to be easily installed into and removed from the hard hat.
