Abstract: A coin passage device of a coin wrapping machine comprises two perimeter edge plates defining opposite side walls of a coin passage and adapted to be adjustably movable toward and away from each other by equal distances thereby to adjust symmetrically the transverse width of the coin passage without shifting the centerline thereof, a position adjusting mechanism actuated by a cam to thus adjust the perimeter edge plates to any one of a plurality of predetermined widths which are respectively suited for different kinds of coins which can be processed in the machine, and a coin propelling mechanism for propelling coins along the coin passage by propelling force acting always on the centers of all coins, irrespective of the diameters thereof, as a result of the symmetrical adjustment of the coin passage width.

Abstract: A note discriminating apparatus includes first and second detectors for detecting the characteristics of a note, a reference level generating section for generating a reference level signal by utilizing the output of the first detector, and a level detecting section for comparing the reference level signal with the outputs of the second detectors to recognize the note. The apparatus further includes a means which, when a note conveyed through the note inlet to the note discrimination position is detected as abnormal, conveys the note back to the note inlet, and conveys the note to the note discrimination position again.

Abstract: A coin-operated locker is provided with a rental time control system comprising a time lapse detecting section for counting rental time in such a manner that its counting operation is started when the key turned to lock the locker is pulled out of the lock, and the counting operation is suspended when the key is inserted into the lock before opening the locker. The time lapse detecting section is reset when the key inserted into the lock is turned to open the locker or when the door is opened.

Abstract: In a paper supplying device in a coin wrapping apparatus, different kinds of paper, each wound into a paper roll, are supported respectively on corresponding paper supporting members mounted on a paper carrying body. According to the kind of coins selected for wrapping in the coin wrapping apparatus, the paper carrying body is rotated to a position where a suitable kind of paper is supplied to a coin wrapping mechanism of the coin wrapping apparatus and cut into a piece of a predetermined length by a single cutting blade provided stationarily at a position apart from the path of the movement of the paper carrying body. A device for retracting the leading end of the paper inwardly of the carrying body at the time of the paper selecting operation is further provided in each paper supporting member.

Abstract: A sheet counting apparatus has first through nth sheet detectors for detecting at least one through n overlapped sheet layers formed during its sheet conveying operation, n being at least the integer 2, and a signal processing circuit for processing the outputs of the detectors to form counting pulses corresponding the number of sheet layers thus overlapped, which pulses are counted by a pulse counter, for counting the number of overlapped sheets. The apparatus further has a control circuit for causing the counter to become operable before starting the sheet conveying operation.

Abstract: In a control system of a coin-operated locker comprising a time-lapse detecting section for producing a time-lapse output signal whenever a predetermined unitary time has passed, a control section for producing a control signal by receiving the time lapse output signal and a signal generated when the key is operated, and a stepping drive mechanism which under the control of the control section is driven to advance stepwise in one direction when the lock is unlocked and when an overtime fee charging operation is carried out, and in the opposite direction when a coin is inserted into the locker, the operation of a device for advancing the stepping drive mechanism in the opposite direction is stopped when it is advanced stepwise in the one direction, thereby to continue the drive of the mechanism in the one direction.

Abstract: A coin sorting device has a coin passage with a floor and a lateral perimeter defining structure on one lateral side (or each of the lateral sides) of the passage, the floor having holes for successively larger coins disposed successively along the passage at positions respectively contiguous to the perimeter defining structure, and the lower span of an endless propelling belt for pressing on the upper faces of the coins and propelling the same is caused by the varying of the travel path of the coins by the perimeter defining structure to be elastically twisted or laterally deflected at parts thereof where the travel path is thus varied and thereby to acquire a reactive restoring force which urges the coins against the corresponding parts of the perimeter defining structure and thereby causes them to be accurately alined in a lateral direction for dropping into their respectively correct sorting holes.

Abstract: Each of two crimping hooks for crimping projecting edges of a piece of wrapping paper wrapped around a coin stack in a coin package machine has an inner guide surface of a convolute shape designed to curl and crimp positively a respective projecting edge when pressed against that projecting edge, as the wrapping paper is rotated together with the coin stack, the edge thus crimped forming a bead by which the coin stack is tightly packaged in a stably rigid state.

Abstract: A coin wrapping device incorporated in a coin wrapping apparatus has a main guide member and an auxiliary guide member provided between each pair of adjacently disposed wrapping rolls, so that these members are movable in synchronism with the movements of the wrapping rolls in accordance with the setting thereof for the denomination of coins being wrapped, and the inner surfaces of the end portions of the members define a cylindrical space between the wrapping rolls.

Abstract: For stacking a predetermined number of coins which are successively supplied prior to wrapping operation, there are provided a preferably odd number of coin guide members which are combined together to define a vertically elongated space therewithin. An adjustment assembly are provided for adjusting the diameter of the inscribed circle of a substantially regularly polygonal cross section of this vertically elongated space according to the diameter of the coins. In another embodiment of this invention, the adjusting assembly is operated through a cam which is turned, perhaps manually, according to the denomination or the class of the coins. There is additionally provided a mechanism for imparting vibratory motion to the above combined coin guide members in order to ensure the neat stacking of the coins.

Abstract: A coin classifying and counting machine has a hopper for collecting mixed coins of several different kinds, a coin delivery device including a revolving disc for scooping up coins from the bottom of the hopper, a delivery passageway for aligning and delivering in orderly sequence the coins thus conveyed, sorting devices installed in the delivery passageway for sorting the coins therein by kind, sorting passageways for conveying by kind the coins thus sorted, coin counting devices, one of which is installed in each sorting passageway to count the coins passing therethrough, and a coin receiver section comprising several chambers, each accommodating coins of a respective kind.

Abstract: A coin stack supporting device has a closing disk for closing the bottom of a cylindrical space into which coins are received and stacked, a coin stack supporting member including a coin stack supporting cylinder, and a coin stack supporting center rod for raising the coin stack for wrapping and fold crimping operations, and an operating mechanism including cams and other parts for variously positioning the upper end of the coin stack supporting member and to withdraw the closing disk and the coin stack supporting member from the cylindrical space to retracted positions.

Abstract: A machine for packaging a predetermined number of coins has a coin feeding device, a coin counting device for counting coins, a coin packaging device for stacking and packaging coins fed by the coin feeding device, a control system for controlling the above described devices, a detecting device for detecting whether the stacking or packaging of the coins is acceptable or not and for producing a detection signal when unacceptable packaging is detected, a rejecting device for rejecting a package of coins detected as unacceptable from the coin packaging device, and a restart commanding system for applying a restart command signal to the control system when the production of the detection signal ceases after the coins are rejected, whereby the next packaging operation is started.

Abstract: A coin stacking cylinder is assembled from three wall members and has a coin stacking space of a substantially circular cross section and variable diameter defined by a substantially semicylindrical concave surface formed by contiguously joined, arcuately recessed surfaces respectively of first and second, mutually displaceable wall members and defining a cavity and by an arcuately recessed surface of a third wall member, which is adjustably moved toward or away from the cavity to vary the diameter of the stacking space to suit any selected one of a plurality of different kinds of coins.

Abstract: A wrapping paper supplying device used in a coin wrapping apparatus for wrapping stacks of coins of various denominations with paper comprises a pair of paper feeding rollers, a mechanism for interrupting the operation of the paper feeding rollers, a mechanism for setting the position of a cutter for obtaining a length of the paper suitable for wrapping the coins of a specific denomination, a cutter position detecting device operating the interrupting mechanism in accordance with the set position of the cutter, and a cam mechanism for varying the operational period of the interrupting mechanism depending on the cutter set position.

Abstract: A compact wrapping paper storing device capable of accommodating a variety of rolls of wrapping paper has a rotary body on which a plurality of wrapping paper placing beds are radially disposed, the placing beds holding thereon respective rolls of wrapping paper in an upright attitude around wrapping paper roll supporting spindles so positioned according to the heights of the rolls of wrapping paper that the outer upper edge portions of the rolls placed on the beds lie within one and the same circle. Placing angles of the placing beds are unequally formed in a manner such that the lower surface of each adjacently preceding bed is positioned as close as possible to the inner upper edge portion of the roll placed on the succeeding bed. The device further has a cutting device adapted to cut the wrapping paper by utilization of tension produced in the wrapping paper.

Abstract: When a selected loading platform bearing a roll of wrapping paper of a width corresponding to stack of a selected kind of coins to be wrapped is brought into a paper feeding station in a coin wrapping machine, a detection member is actuated in conformance with that paper width thereby to adjustably set the operational position of at least one of two crimping hooks in a device for fold crimping the outwardly projecting lateral edges of the paper after it has been wrapped around the coin stack.

Abstract: An automatic money-issuing system adapted to automatically issue bank notes and a necessary amount of money of predetermined denominations with the aid of a tape information input or a manual input, which comprises a device adapted to indicate an amount of money to be paid, a circuit storing a signal from the device, a means to issue bank notes or coins, a circuit adapted to compare the amount of money issued with the amount of money indicated, and a device adapted to stop the operation of the device issuing money by a coincidence signal issued from a comparison circuit.

Abstract: A sheet comparing system, in which comparison between a number of sheets to be counted and an actually counted number of the sheets is carried out so that noise signals other than the signals required to carry out the comparison are excluded. A simple comparator circuit adapted for the sheet comparing system is also disclosed.

Abstract: Paper money such as bank notes of various denominations are dispensed by an apparatus having bank note storing cases including spaces which are adapted to store in a packed state sheets of the bank notes classified in accordance with the denominations, a note removal device provided at the note delivering end of each space in the note storing cases for taking the notes out of the note storing cases, and a note lifting device adapted to be selectively positioned in alignment with the note removal device for receiving the notes taken out by the note removal device. Preferably, each note removal device has a suction head and note removal rollers, and the note lifting device is a note kick-up roller, a stop member for dressing the leading edges of the notes, and a cam for regulating the position of the stop member in accordance with the width of the notes of the pertinent denomination.
