  • Patent number: 9675746
Abstract: Extracorporeal blood treatment is performed daily on a large number of patients by use of for example a dialysis filter, plasma filter or a centrifuge. The purpose of the treatment is to separate minor components and molecules in a liquid or in the blood from larger ones, for example in connection with different disease conditions or with a view to extracting blood plasma, target substances such as blood components or molecules from for example blood donors. According to the present invention two separation steps are used together with a solution or a suspension containing at least one component, which specifically may bind to the component or the blood component to be specifically reduced, or to be refined/extracted during the treatment or during the blood treatment.

  • Publication number: 20140342377
Abstract: A method for the detection of at least one analyte in a sample is disclosed, wherein it comprises the steps of: a) providing a layer comprising a porous matrix having at least one ligand bound thereto above a filter constituting the bottom of at least one well of an assay plate, wherein said filter does not allow passage of said porous matrix having a ligand bound thereto, b) adding a sample containing said at least one analyte to be detected, said at least one analyte having the ability to specifically bind to said at least one ligand, c) adding a wash solution with a view to washing out non-bound sample components from the assay plate through the filter, d) adding enzyme-linked antibodies or antigens having the ability to specifically bind to said at least one analyte, e) adding a wash solution with a view to washing out non-bound enzyme-linked antibodies or antigens from the analysis plate through the filter, f) adding a substrate specific for the enzyme, wherein a product is formed by a reaction between t

  • Patent number: 6406894
Abstract: A process for preparing polyvalent, physiologically degradable carbohydrate-containing polymers by enzymatic glycosylation reactions is described. The carbohydrate-containing polymers thus prepared may be used for preparing carbohydrate building blocks. The polyvalent carbohydrate-containing polymers of the invention cause no intolerance reactions in vivo, either in their intact form or in the form of degradation products. The carbohydrate side chain of the carbohydrate-containing polymer is assembled by enzymatic glycosylation reactions in homogeneous aqueous buffer systems directly on a biodegradable polymer. The yields of the glycosylation reaction are significantly improved over known processes, and are often quantitative. This also provides a significant increase in the loading densities. A process for preparing free oligosaccharides by means of the carbohydrate-containing polymers of the invention is also described.
