Patent number: 4786369Abstract: Integral powdered abrasive soaps are formulated by in-situ reacting on an abrasive, an acid or base component with an antipodal base or acid component. Since the acid or base component resides on the abrasive particles, the formed soap also resides on the abrasive particles and often forms a coating. The in-situ soap is a dry powder and is flowable. The abrasive can be a crushable abrasive so that, upon the application of slight pressure thereto, it breaks down into small particles and aids in cleaning.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1987Date of Patent: November 22, 1988Assignee: Go-Jo Industries, Inc.Inventors: Joseph S. Kanfer, James A. Monson, Lucy J. Krieger

Patent number: 4715517Abstract: A fluid dispenser for use with a source of fluid having a flexible, valveless dispensing tube includes a base unit for support of the fluid source and a closure member normally closing off the end of the tube. The dispenser carries a cam and spring assembly which, upon the application of the hand pressure, moves a roller into engagement with the tube and moves the closure member out of engagement with the tube to open the end thereof and permit the fluid to be ejected therefrom.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1986Date of Patent: December 29, 1987Assignee: Go-Jo Industries, Inc.Inventors: Charles Potter, Ronald F. Patent number: 4621749Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing viscous material from a container having an elongate, flexible dispensing tube includes a back plate for wall mounting and a cover, hingedly connected to said back plate and movable between open and closed positions with respect thereto. A normally concealed but accessible latch mechanism is carried by the back plate and the cover for releasably securing the cover in its closed position. The back plate has an integral seat for reception of the container and a tube receiving member for seating and locating the tube which extends from the container. A dispensing bar is hingedly mounted on the back plate and carries a resiliently mounted pressure member. The dispensing bar and pressure member are normally urged into engagement with the tube and toward the back plate when the tube is held in the tube receiving member and are further movable into collapsing relationship with the tube upon the application of hand pressure to the dispensing bar.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1984Date of Patent: November 11, 1986Assignee: Go-Jo IndustriesInventor: Joseph S. Patent number: 4582227Abstract: A pump dispenser assembly for dispensing high viscosity material, such as soap, includes a wall mounting bracket; a top cover hingedly connected to the wall mounting bracket for movement between open and closed positions relative thereto; a pump sub-assembly releasably carried by the top cover; and a container for the soap or other material which cooperates with the just-named components so as to be supported by the wall mounting bracket and engaged by the top cover and pump assembly to be securely held within the assembly and yet easily removable therefrom for replacement purposes. To this end, the container is supported on the mounting bracket, has an engagement recess for engagement with a lip on the cover, and a cylindrical extension for engagement with the pump sub-assembly.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1983Date of Patent: April 15, 1986Assignee: Go-Jo Industries, Inc.Inventor: Joseph S. Kanfer

Patent number: 4437589Abstract: Improved dispensing cartridges for use in combination with a dispenser to distribute high viscosity material, such as soap, for example, include an integral but removable bottom wall which serves the dual purpose of acting as the bottom of a container during transportation of the cartridge and acting as a pressure plate in response to atmospheric pressure to assist dispensing of the material when the cartridge is installed on the dispenser and the bottom wall is detached. A modified form of the invention is designed to be utilized selectively with either free running dispensers or with dispensers which include a screw operated pressure plate and includes a centrally disposed removable section in the bottom wall.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1982Date of Patent: March 20, 1984Assignee: Go-Jo Industries, Inc.Inventor: Charles Potter

Patent number: 4350268Abstract: A dispenser for use particularly with high viscosity or thixotropic materials and especially those containing grit is disclosed and comprises a two-piece housing adapted to be received on a supporting surface and to receive a replacable supply container for the material. The housing has an internal track at least partially disposed in a curved condition and intended to receive and support a flexible tube which interconnects the supply container and a dispensing nozzle which is carried by the housing. One of the housing components also carries a roller crank having a pair of diametrically opposed rollers which can be selectively moved into and out of occlusive contact with the tubing to force a measured amount of the material through the flexible tube and out the nozzle. A handle is disposed externally of the housing for connection with the roller crank for actuation thereof.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1980Date of Patent: September 21, 1982Assignee: Go-Jo Industries, Inc.Inventor: Charles Potter

Patent number: 4014459Abstract: A unique container closure is disclosed which includes a flat top surface, a vertical side wall, and a sloping intermediate wall interconnecting the top and the side wall at an angle to the vertical. Interiorly of the closure are depending, radially inwardly extending reinforcement ribs which are integrally connected to the top surface, the intermediate wall, and the side wall for stiffening purposes. An annular depending rib is also contained on the interior surface of the intermediate wall, and the inner surface of the side wall has a recess, an inwardly extending annular flange, and a further recess adapted to engage a corresponding lip on the container per se.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1975Date of Patent: March 29, 1977Assignee: Go-Jo Industries, Inc.Inventor: Ronald L.
