  • Patent number: 4378044
Abstract: A mold forming tool for use in the manufacture of casting molds by compression of loose mold forming material by a process in which the final compacting is achieved by pressing, for the casting of cast pieces having undercuts, the tool having an elastically deformable portion in the region of the undercuts, and the elastically deformable portion being made of a material which is deformable, thus creating the undercut pattern, solely under the influence of the pressure exerted on the mold forming material during the final compacting.

  • Patent number: 4355815
Abstract: A cross-sectionally U-shaped radially inwardly open piston ring for a piston slidably received in a cylinder and dividing the cylinder into a high-pressure side and a low-pressure side. The piston ring includes first and second radially inwardly projecting, circumferentially extending legs for being received in respective grooves of the piston, while straddling a radially outwardly projecting, circumferentially extending web forming part of the piston. That leg which is closer to the high-pressure side than the other leg when the piston ring is in place on the piston, is resiliently deformable in a direction parallel to the axis of the piston in response to pressures prevailing at the high-pressure side, whereby the leg is circumferentially pressed against the web forming part of the piston.

  • Patent number: 4325125
Abstract: An arrangement for orienting an out-of-round workpiece into desired angular and lateral positions for a machining operation. The arrangement places the workpiece into a first location; determines the actual angular and lateral positions of the workpiece in the first location; determines the deviations between the respective desired and actual positions; moves the workpiece from the first location into a second location; and reorients the workpiece into the desired angular and lateral positions dependent upon correctional values derived from the above-noted deviations.
