  • Publication number: 20050252149
Abstract: Novel free-standing open-span building frames for building construction and their use. The frames are assembled from base plates, upright posts, post-joist-rafter connectors, and a joist. Each base plate is a steel plate having an upper surface to which is welded the lower end of a steel post connector. The steel plates anchor bolt holes therethrough on each side of the post connector. The building has a steel reinforced concrete foundation with anchor bolts extending through the anchor bolt holes of each base plate, each base plate being secured to the anchor bolts with nuts. Each post has a lower end bolted to the respective steel post connector of the first and second base plate. Each post-joist-rafter connector comprises a post connector, a joist connector and a rafter connector. The first post has an upper end bolted to the post connector of the first post-joist-rafter connector, and the second post has an upper end bolted to the post connector of the second post-joist-rafter connector.

  • Patent number: 4811989
Abstract: Mops and process for making closed or uncut end mops particularly using single ply cotton yarn having a high degree of twist. The yarn is processed through a fringe making machine into lengths of pre-sewn fringe and the high twist yarn tends to bunch together in thick, ropy masses of yarn strands. The fringe is affixed to mop backs to form a mop, and the mops are then soaked in a high temperature water bath until the ropy yarn strands relax, straighten and separate. The mops are rinsed and transferred to a high temperature hot air dryer and dried until the separate yarn strands twist about their looped ends to form separate, individual doubled ply yarn strands with uncut ends.

Abstract: Mops and process for making closed or uncut end mops particularly using single ply cotton yarn having a high degree of twist. The yarn is processed through a fringe making machine into lengths of pre-sewn fringe or processed through a wet mop making machine and the high twist yarn tends to bunch together in thick, ropy masses of yarn strands. The fringe is either affixed to mop backs or affixed together in the middle to form a mop, and the mops are then soaked in a high temperature water bath until the ropy yarn strands relax, straighten and separate. The mops are rinsed and transferred to a high temperature hot air dryer and dried until the separate yarn strands twist about their looped ends to form separate, individual doubled ply yarn strands with uncut ends.

  • Patent number: 4679859
Abstract: Antimicrobial or bacterial static compounds are added to mops and mats to retard mildew and generally inhibit growth of undesired organisms, to prolong product life, and, to aid in reducing contamination of areas in which the mops and mats are used. For mops, an antimicrobial or bacterial static solution is set into the mop's cellulosic yarn fibers, through a heat activated setting process. In mats, the antimicrobial compound is generally incorporated into a backing, such as a vinyl plastisol based backing, used for the mats.

  • Patent number: 4644741
Abstract: A certain process and exemplary machinery for making yarn which is particularly useful for producing mops and mats utilizes yarn generally of a mixture of cotton and certain synthetic fibers and subjects the yarn to heat and pressure. The heat melts the surface of the synthetic fibers and pressure urges the cotton fibers into engagement with the synthetic fibers. Upon cooling, the cotton fibers are mechanically bonded to the synthetic fibers and provide a mop yarn which is fluid absorbant, durable and resistant to scrubbing abrasion and maintains integrity for repeated use and washings.

  • Patent number: 4252079
Abstract: A lightweight, easily portable apparatus for treating a mop head, dust cloth and the like with a dust attracting liquid includes a lightweight plastic container having spaced walls and an open top for holding a quantity of the liquid and a lightweight, removable frame structure fitted onto the container whereby the frame structure is separable from the container for cleaning, storage and handling. The frame structure has a front portion with a plate member thereon for supporting the mop head and said plate may be transparent whereby the condition and quantity of liquid in the container can be visually determined. Spaced arm members are connected to a rear portion of the frame structure adjacent opposite side walls of the container and have lower portions extending downwardly into the interior of the container and upper portions extending upwardly from the container.
