Abstract: An electrically isolating gasket is disclosed wherein a coating layer is disposed on at least one conductive surface, and in some embodiments, on all surfaces or at least all of the conductive surfaces. The electrically isolating gasket includes a core gasket component, a ring seal component, and a non-conductive inner seal component. The coating layer can be, for example, polyimide, polyamide, ceramic, and aluminum oxide.

Abstract: The present application provides an isolation testing unit for a pipeline segment having an isolation junction is provided. The isolation testing unit includes, among other things, an isolation monitoring device that allows for constant monitoring of an isolation parameter at a display with a graphical user interface. The isolation testing unit may include a potentiometer for measuring a potential on an upstream portion of a pipe and a downstream portion of a pipe. The effectiveness of the isolation is determined by the difference between the potentials.
