  • Patent number: 11971022
Abstract: A system for dispensing abrasive materials includes a transfer pump configured to pump abrasive material to a metering pump configured to pump the abrasive material to an application. Dynamic interfaces within the pumps are at least partially formed by sleeved components of the pump interfacing with a seal configured to engage with the sleeved surface during relative movement between the sleeved surface and the seal. The smooth exterior surfaces of the sleeves interface with the seals to prevent abrasive particulate in the material from adhering to the sleeve, preventing the abrasive particulate from being pulled between the sleeve and the seal.

  • Patent number: 11964291
Abstract: A battery powered fluid sprayer includes a reciprocating positive displacement pump, a power supply that includes a battery, an electric motor, a motor controller, a user-adjustment mechanism for setting a user-adjustable pressure threshold corresponding to system fluid pressure of the battery powered fluid sprayer, a pressure switch, and a power controller. The pressure switch generates a pressure signal indicative of whether the system fluid pressure is greater than the user-adjustable pressure threshold. The power controller is configured to control power of the battery powered fluid sprayer by providing operating power of the motor controller in response to the pressure signal indicating that the system fluid pressure is less than the user-adjustable pressure threshold, and not providing the operating power of the motor controller in response to the pressure signal indicating that the system fluid pressure is greater than the user-adjustable pressure threshold.

  • Patent number: 11951498
Abstract: A spray gun system includes a spray gun, a pressure sensor, and a controller. The spray gun is configured to distribute a mixture of air and fluid onto a working surface. The pressure sensor is fluidly connected to the spray gun and is configured to measure fluid pressure within the spray gun system. The controller is electrically connected to the pressure sensor and is configured to calculate pressure error based on the measured pressure and a pressure set-point. The controller is further configured to increment a counter if the pressure error exceeds an error threshold, perform a flow control to adjust the pressure set-point to achieve a target flow rate in response to determining that the increment counter exceeds a count threshold, and perform a pressure control loop to adjust the fluid pressure within the spray gun system to achieve the pressure set-point.

  • Patent number: 11931766
Abstract: A plural material dispensing system (10) includes a pump (38) having a cylinder (52) mounted between a first bracket (32) and a second bracket (34), a piston (54) disposed within the cylinder (52), and a pump rod (48) extending from the piston (54) and out of the first bracket (32). Material is provided to the cylinder (52) through a flow path extending through the pump rod (48). The piston (54) drives material downstream out of the cylinder (52), and the interface between the piston (54) and the inner surface of the cylinder (52) provides a dynamic seal during pumping. The flow of material into and out of the pump (38) is controlled by actively-controlled inlet and outlet valves.

  • Patent number: 11933293
Abstract: In a control system for operating a pump, the pump is pneumatically driven to pump hydraulic fluid to pressurize a closed vessel. The control system includes inlet and outlet ports, a pneumatic regulator, a pressure transducer, and control circuitry. The inlet and outlet ports are configured to receive inlet and output outlet pressurized air, respectively. The outlet pressurized air powers the pump. The pneumatic regulator is disposed between the ports, and configured to receive the inlet air and output the outlet air. The pneumatic regulator includes a valve that modulates pneumatic pressure based on a control signal. The pressure transducer provides a hydraulic pressure signal indicative of pressure at the output of the pump. The control circuitry is configured to adjust a parameter of the control signal based on this hydraulic pressure signal, and output the control signal to the pneumatic regulator to indirectly control operation of the pump.

  • Patent number: 11905939
Abstract: Modular mechanically driven diaphragm pump features are presented herein. Such a diaphragm pump can include a motor, a drive mechanism, and a coupling mounted on a wheeled frame. A diaphragm pump can be mounted to the coupling by forming mechanical static and dynamic connections to brace a housing of the diaphragm pump relative to a drive rod which is moved by the drive mechanism to operate the pump. These mechanical static and dynamic connections can be broken to dismount the pump for replacement or servicing. In some cases, a gas charge can be introduced on the non-working fluid side of the diaphragm to boost performance and/or a dampener can be integrated into the housing of the diaphragm pump and mounted/dismounted with the diaphragm pump.

  • Patent number: 11896987
Abstract: This disclosure presents several options for spraying paint on large elevated surfaces. In a first example, a lift is equipped with sensors to move a painter along the wall in a serpentine pattern while maintaining a constant separation distance and orientation to facilitate spraying of the wall. In a second example, a spray stamp frame is positioned on the wall in a plurality of different positions to spray discrete portions of the wall by a slide bar that moves along the spray stamp frame at each position. In a third example, one or more cables are strung between vertical supports along the wall and a spray module is moved along or by the cables to spray the horizontal stripe, and this process is repeated to spray a plurality of horizontal stripes at different elevations to spray the wall.
