Patent number: 4167254Abstract: A locking device for seat belts intended for vehicles of the type in which a strap being a part of the seat belt is automatically drawn into and wound up on a rotatable coiling shaft when the seat belt is not used, to temporarily lock the shaft. The device comprises a ratchet means non-rotatably arranged on the shaft; a locking means fixedly mounted in relation to the shaft; at least one locking body accommodated in the locking means and arranged for displacement from a neutral position to a locking position in which the locking body engages with the ratchet means for preventing rotation of the shaft; and a rotatably mounted guiding means. The guiding means is provided with a guiding surface for the locking body and is coupled to the shaft at the beginning of the locking operation to be turned by the shaft on its rotation due to withdrawal of strap from a normal position to a locking position and thereby to move the locking body to the locking position.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1977Date of Patent: September 11, 1979Assignee: Granges Essem AktiebolagInventors: Hannu O. Paitula, Roland A. Larsson

Patent number: 4128261Abstract: A locking device for safety belts in vehicles of the type in which a strap of the seat belt is automatically retracted into a housing when the seat belt is not used. The device comprises at least two parallel, rotatably mounted rollers and the strap runs between and around the rollers. One roller is undisplaceable and the other roller is movable in an arcuate path between a free position and a locking position. The movable roller is normally maintained in the free position, in which the rollers can rotate, so that the strap can be extended. During rapid extension of the strap, the movable roller is moved to a locking position, in which the rollers can not rotate, so that the strap can not be further extended.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1977Date of Patent: December 5, 1978Assignee: Granges Essem Aktiebolag FackInventor: Hannu O. Patent number: 4113062Abstract: A device is provided for changing the force acting on a spring operated reversibly rotatable shaft. The spring is arranged to be tensioned during the rotation of the shaft in one direction and then provides the rotation of the shaft in the opposite direction. The device comprises a rotatably mounted means which is arranged to be actuated by a second spring, and a gear reduction device which is inserted between the shaft and the rotatable means. The gear reduction device causes the rotatable means to rotate less than one revolution during the whole rotation of the shaft in one direction. The second spring is arranged to provide an additional force on the shaft over the gear reduction device.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1977Date of Patent: September 12, 1978Assignee: Granges Essem AktiebolagInventor: Stig Gosta Bele Beland

Patent number: 4099685Abstract: A locking device for vehicle safety seat belts of the type in which a strap of the seat belt is automatically retracted and wound onto a wind-up shaft when the seat belt is not in use, for preventing rapid extension of the strap. The device comprises a rotatable body rigidly attached to one end of the shaft and arranged to rotate with the shaft; a stop means positioned outside the rotatable body and fixedly mounted in relation to the shaft; and at least one elongated locking member movable in relation to the rotatable body and positioned between the rotatable body and the stop means. The locking member is movable on a guiding surface on the rotatable body from a radially seen inner position, free position, in which it does not prevent rotation of the rotatable body, to a radially seen outer position, locking position, in which it engages with both the stop means and the rotatable body and, thus, prevents further turning of the rotatable body.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1976Date of Patent: July 11, 1978Assignee: Granges Essem AktiebolagInventor: Hannu Olli Paitula

Patent number: 4075861Abstract: A method of laying heating medium conveying pipes, wherein a pipe receiving trench is prepared and pipes, wrapped in heat insulating jackets permitting transversal relative movements of the pipes within the jackets, are placed in the trench. The pipes and the insulating jackets are then bent to follow a serpentine path and the trench filled to cover the pipes.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1976Date of Patent: February 28, 1978Assignee: Granges Essem AktiebolagInventors: Filip Bertil Thyberger, Kurt Olle Ragnvald Lindstrom

Patent number: 4044969Abstract: A locking mechanism for vehicle safety belts of the type in which a strap of the belt is automatically retracted into a housing and coiled up on a reel when the belt is not in use, to lock the reel either at rapid extraction of the strap of the belt or at an alteration in the travelling speed or direction of the vehicle. The locking mechanism comprises at lease two latching means which are attached to the reel and arranged to rotate with it and which are mounted so that they can be displaced from a retracted position, in which they do not hinder the rotation of the reel, to an extended position, in which they are in engagement with a stop for locking the reel. The latching means are arranged to be moved out by rapid rotation of the reel due to rapid extraction of the strap of the belt or by an actuating means which is rotatably mounted on the reel and arranged to engage with the latching means.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1975Date of Patent: August 30, 1977Assignee: Granges Essem AktiebolagInventor: Jan-Olof Wallin

Patent number: 4032361Abstract: A method for controlled separation of substances by heating, e.g. for removing paint or other coatings on scrap metal, includes heating in an oven chamber the material from which one or more substances are to be separated to a temperature sufficiently high to provide evaporation of the substances to be separated, by means of a circulating gas. The gas is circulated from the oven chamber to a combustion chamber, where it is burned, and then to a large extent recirculated back to the oven chamber. The burning in the combustion chamber is intended to facilitate the destruction or collection of harmful substances emitted in the oven chamber and generates the heat necessary for providing and sustaining the desired temperature in the oven chamber. Controlling the recirculating gas stream will provide close control of the separation process in the oven chamber and, thus, facilitate the cleaning of the gas quantity diverted from the combustion chamber to the atmosphere.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1976Date of Patent: June 28, 1977Assignee: Granges Essem Aktiebolag FackInventors: Hans Georg Eriksson, Karl Gosta Sjoberg, Karl Borje Lofgren

Patent number: 4030682Abstract: A locking mechanism for vehicle safety belts of the type in which a strap of the belt is automatically retracted into a housing and coiled up on a reel when the belt is not in use, to lock the reel at rapid extraction of the strap of the belt. The locking mechanism comprises a supporting means which is non-rotatably attached to the reel for rotation with it and which carries at least two latching means pivotably mounted on two pivot pins positioned symmetrically in relation to the reel and parallel with it. At rapid rotation of the reel, the latching means are turned by the centrifugal force about their respective pivot pins from a free position to a latching position with the forward portion in engagement with a stop means. The latching means are arranged to engage with each other in such a way that an angular turn of one latching means causes a corresponding equal large angular turn of the other latching means, so that the latching means are simultaneously turned out-wards into the latching position.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1975Date of Patent: June 21, 1977Assignee: Granges Essem AktiebolagInventor: Jan-Olof Wallin
