  • Patent number: 8079107
Abstract: In an overhead throwing sweeping machine, the cylindrical sweeping roller (4) which is rotatable about its longitudinal axis is retained on jointly adjustable pivoted arms, and the dirt container (6) arranged behind the sweeping roller (4) has a receiving opening, the bottom edge (15) of which lies adjacent to the sweeping roller (4). In order to reset the sweeping area of the sweeping roller (4) after wear of the bristles, a cable control (20) is provided which runs over a bearing surface (11) which, at a pivoted arm designed as a double-armed lever and intended for the sweeping roller (4), is formed on that arm (7) of said double-armed lever which is remote from the longitudinal axis (4?) of the sweeping roller (4).

  • Patent number: 8038030
Abstract: A floor-cleaning machine which can be driven over the floor, includes a driven brush for sweeping the floor to be cleaned. The brush picks up dirt and debris from the floor and carries it, assisted by forced air flow, in an overhead motion and through a transfer duct to a pair of dirt containers in the form of buckets located side-by-side at the rear of the machine. A manual linkage at the rear of the machine moves a pivoted carrier frame which holds the dirt containers, between a raised use position in which the upper rims of the dirt containers are sealed to the machine for collection of debris, and a lowered access position for removal of the containers. Each container is independently accessible for emptying, and includes a bail-type handle pivotally attached such that a bucket, the opening of which faces forwardly and upwardly in the use position, extends generally horizontal when removed, to avoid spillage.

  • Patent number: 7461428
Abstract: A floor cleaning machine includes a driven brush for sweeping debris and dirt into a dirt container which is supported by a retracting arm actuated by a powered actuator, such as an hydraulic cylinder, between a use position in which said dirt container is sealed to a dirt discharge opening to collect all the dirt, and a raised, dumping position. Between the use position and the dumping position, the dirt container is maintained in the same disposition to avoid inadvertent spillage of its contents, by the cooperation of an articulating linkage which includes an auxiliary arm. The auxiliary arm is releaseably fixed to the machine by a latch to maintain the desired disposition of the dirt container while raising the container. When the dirt container is raised to the dumping position, and the latch is released, the dirt container pivots to dump its contents.

  • Patent number: 7302734
Abstract: A mobile floor or ground cleaning machine includes a hydraulic motor for propulsion and/or operating a cleaning brush. Airflow produced by a fan is directed through a housing located adjacent the cleaning brush for creating an area of low pressure adjacent the brush. The housing includes a filter system through which the airflow is directed. Under the influence of the airflow, the closed housing, which preferably is a unitary structure, directs dirt directly into a receptacle and directs dust through the filter system for subsequent deposit in the receptacle. The housing forms a reservoir for oil which drives the hydraulic motor, with the airflow within the housing serving to cool the oil.

  • Patent number: 4979260
Abstract: A hand-guided sweeper employing a rotary brush to propel debris into a detachable hopper, a blower to facilitate pickup of dust and a filter to remove dust prior to passing through the blower includes guides on the frame of the sweeper adapted to cooperate with projections on the sides of the hopper, permitting the hopper to be inserted and removed from the front of the sweeper without notable lifting and interference to the blower and filter.

  • Patent number: 4974283
Abstract: A hand-guided sweeping machine has a filter housing pivotally mounted to tilt about an axis to facilitate shaking the filter free of dust. The filter housing outlet is in sealing registry with the blower intake when the housing is lowered, and is moved out of sealing registry when the housing is raised. In the raised position, the filter housing covers the hopper opening so that debris from the filter housing will continue to fall into the hopper. A flap-like sealing arrangement surrounds the filter housing inlet to prevent dust from entering the internal mechanism of the sweeper.
