Abstract: A metal support for a pierced earring comprises an elongated solid member with uniform non-circular cross-section. The cross-section has maximum dimensions in at least two angularly displaced directions to provide substantial resistance to deformation in these two directions, while having relatively small dimensions in directions between these two directions to minimize the weight of the solid member as compared with the weight for a cylindrical member of a diameter equal to the maximum dimensions.
Abstract: A metal post for a pierced earring is formed of an elongate hollow, tubular member having an open end and a closed rounded end. A disk shaped member having an upper face and a centrally located hole is placed onto the open end portion of the post. The disk further has solder flush applied to an upper face which is directed toward the open end of the post. An ornamental member, provided with a socket, is subsequently placed onto the open end of the post and positioned against the disk. Heat is subsequently applied to the solder flush to effect suitable joining of the post, disk and ornamental member to each other.
Abstract: A pierced earring construction including a hoop-type earring member having spaced free ends and an earwire that is pivotally mounted on one of the free ends, the earwire including a pivot portion that is formed as an integral part thereof and that extends through the free end on which the earwire is mounted for pivotally locating the earwire on said earring member.
