  • Patent number: 5411429
Abstract: A light display of the present invention is incorporated in a wheeled toy and is visible through a translucent or transparent cover. The light display includes a rotatable arm and a bracket which rotates on the arm. A generally vertical gear is rotated by movement of the toy and meshes with a pinion gear on the arm to rotate the arm. The light bracket is rotatably mounted on the arm spaced from the pinion gear so that it will orbit in the toy. The light bracket in turn has a pinion gear which meshes with a gear defined by a toothed surface of an opening in the toy. The meshing of the bracket gear with the toothed surface of the opening causes the bracket to rotate. The bracket houses electric light means, a battery, and a centrifugally operated switch. A movable weight, in the form of a bearing, is provided to facilitate closing of the switch even at slow speeds of rotation.

  • Patent number: 5411138
Abstract: Packaging is provided for a toy that includes a body having bottom wall having a slot. The packaging includes bottom, top, front, back and side walls defining a box sized to receive the toy and a key. The bottom surface of the box has an opening aligned with the toy's slot so that the key may be passed through the bottom box opening into the toy's body slot. The key includes a shaft, a head at one end of the shaft, and a base at another end of the shaft. The head is sized to fit through the box opening and body slot and shaped so that the key head will remain in the toy body when the key head is rotated in the body. The base of the key is sized to prevent passage of the base through the box opening. If the toy includes a wheel operated display, the box bottom may be provided with a slot which allows access to the wheel so that the display may be operated without removing the toy from the box.

  • Patent number: 5356329
Abstract: A ridable toy which is adapted to be rocked by a child has a body on which the child may sit to rock the toy, a translucent portion, and a centrifugally operated light display visible through the translucent portion. The light display is caused to spin and light up by an arcuate rack drive system which is responsive to the rocking motion induced in the toy by the child.

  • Patent number: 5269719
Abstract: A light show mechanism is provided that includes light brackets which are mounted for rotation on opposite ends of a platform. The light brackets have at least two spaced lamps mounted thereon. The platform rotates about a central axis. As the platform rotates, the light brackets travel in a planetary path. The light brackets rotate on the platform as the platform rotates so that its lights sweep out aesthetically pleasing designs. The rate of rotation of the light brackets can be changed independently of each other to change the design formed by the lights.

  • Patent number: 5036447
Abstract: A stake (1) supports an outdoor lighting fixture. The light fixture includes a socket (23) for a light bulb (6), and electrical wires (w) connected to the socket. The stake has a stem (3) insertable into the ground. An improvement (7) comprises a housing 4 having an opening (9) in its upper end. The height of the housing is such that the socket fits within the housing when the fixture is installed on the stake. The light bulb protrudes through the opening in the upper end of the housing when the socket is so installed. One side of the housing has an opening (21) to allow insertion and removal of the socket. The housing has horizontal slots (29, 31) in its respective side walls to support the wiring for the fixture.
